- I think initial training is necessary so you have a base to build upon. Practice is what makes you a good massage therapist and continued education can make you even better.

- Massage is both an art and a science, it is very nuanced. It is not enough to have a "good touch", you also need to know what you're doing and why you're doing. The best way to become good at it is to go to school first and then practice as much as you can, and get as much feedback as you can. There is a reason why there are massage licenses and certifications, not everyone is qualified to do it.
