AndyNY's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do. My biggest success is to have helped dozens of regular clients to improve their health and stress level. I tend to receive messages from clients telling me how much better they feel. My primary goal is to make sure my clients feel 100% better than how they were coming into my massage place. So when the objetive is reached, I consider I have succeed.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I love my massage practice and what I do. I genuinely enjoy making people feel better. My work is a joy and an honor, and I consider every client as an individual blessing in my life.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I have been working with hundreds of satisfied clients for over 7 years, accumulating over 2,500 hours of male to male massage experience. My primary objective is to be sure that my clients feel 1000% better than how they were coming into my massage place. I absolutely want them to have an experience that they won't forget and most importantly, that they feel is worth the investment of money and time.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
100 percent. If you don't have the right techniques, you can damage yourself and the client as well. Our body is our temple and we must treat it properly. I personally have trained at Advanced Therapeutic Massage Training Program at the Florida College of Natural Health and at the Energetic and Spiritual Healing , Maria Lombard Healing Center in Long Beach, CA.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
One of the advantages of having your own schedule is to be able to invest in experiences. I do travel as much as I can. Favorite destination is usually Europe as a whole.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been working with hundreds of satisfied clients for over 7 years, accumulating over 2,500 hours of male to male massage experience. I plan on working as a massage therapist as long as I am happy with it.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
My advice is to train properly. Our body is our temple and we have only one.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Being able to provide a better life for yourself and your family are just a few of many reasons why people enjoy entering into this profession. We must, as society, stop reinforcing wrong stereotypes. Some of the benefits of working as massage therapist are to have the option to work in exciting locations, set our own hours, work in relaxing environments, meet new and interesting people, HELP PEOPLE and become your own boss.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Travel, Read and exercise.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I have been working with hundreds of satisfied clients for over 7 years, accumulating over 2,500 hours of male to male massage experience. My primary objective is to be sure that my clients feel 1000% better than how they were coming into my massage place. I absolutely want them to have an experience that they won't forget and most importantly, that they feel is worth the investment of money and time.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
The word addictive implies negativity so it is not a word I incorporate in my massage practice or in my life in general. Massage therapists provide an invaluable service to people who are in pain, recovering from injuries, or experiencing stress. Massage therapy speeds up the healing process, improves circulation, and can even restore emotional balance. Taking in consideration that, I would definitely miss making people feel good or much better.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
When massage clients come to my massage studio they will find a peaceful environment surrounded by scented candles, soft towels, and soothing music. The ambiance makes it a relaxing experience not only for the client, but for me as well.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Tourist spots and cruise ships all over the world employ massage therapists making this a great occupation for those who enjoy working in beautiful surroundings. That's how I started it. I didn't mind relocating to get the opportunity to work in a resort on a tropical beach or a lodge surrounded by snow-covered mountains. I have worked in several cruises in Europe and the Caribbean, hotels in Miami and New York, and cities like D.C, Las Vegas, San Francisco, London and even Puerto Vallarta.
