BradenLauderdale's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
If only I knew that day what I know now, walking into a Buckhead exclusive high rise all innocent, wondering why the security officer was grinning as I nervously walked past his desk. I was to come face to face with a man who, I later found out, did to others what he did to me that day. Basically used me as a house keeper. I washed dishes, cleaned the toilet, the shower, etc. When I was done and baffled at the whole ordeal, He said to me :Thanks but you didn't put the pictures back correctly on the shelve: and shorted me over half of my rate. Almost in tears and head full of a million assumptions as to why he wasn't; attracted to me (lol Back then it was all about me} I hurried past the front desk and looked at the guard who was in hysterics, and yelled "why didn't you warn me, all dramatic like" And bolted into the streets of Buckhead all broken and insecure. wow, It gets better, 4 years later he booked again and I thought the address looked familiar and upon arrival I had an idea, I remember he had mentioned how he liked his men to be manly and butch. When he came to the door you can only imagine.... with Britney cued up and my shirt tied in a crop top style, I danced !!!!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do because I measure my success on the experience and what the client gains from the time we share.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to not only feel the relaxation in their body, where we have worked out the kinks, but I hope that they all feel a sense of peace and comfort that comes from the conversations, that often lead to meaningful and impacting moments.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am kind of a nerd, I study Swedish and French, I go to the beach, workout and sing.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I personally don't find it addictive as much as a rewarding hobby that I will always enjoy in some aspect. It truly brings me joy.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am fluent in 5 languages and proficient in a few more. English, Spanish, German, Swedish, French and I am learning Italian and Portuguese
Why did you become a Masseur?
At first to survive after I lost a job but quickly came to love the craft and find great joy in helping others
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Do it because you wait to help others and give everyone the same care and love that you would a dear friend.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
We are all unique but my ability to connect is intense.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Off and on for 15 years.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel but since the pandemic not as often as I would like.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
No, I believe experience is the most important and passion. Of corse training is necessary but I know 30 places that you can get your “certification” but if you have no passion it shows.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Amazed and relaxed. At peace and with hope.
