Cwmassage's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was the biggest inspiration for me to even start massaging in the first place. She has cerebral palsy and has a very difficult time opening her right hand. After spending about 75 minutes massaging her she was able to open her hand! It opened up like a flower. I've been happy massaging ever since.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I think I would miss my massage days because it brings me joy to make people feel good. I feel like im doing a job well done when a client comes out of one of my sessions with a smile.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
So far I've been slowly but surely building up clients. I'd say im successful.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I'd like my clients to know that I will work harder during your massage than any of these other guys. I don't need abs,a tan or a photoshopped picture to make myself appealing. I let my work speak for itself.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them smiling, relaxed and glad they came to see me.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
When im not working my dayjob I am either playing video games, reading, writing poetry or just hanging around with my two cats.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a masseur because I have a need to help people. Life is too stressful as it is, and there is too much negativity in the world that if i can provide relief even for just 50-90 mins, I'll be happy.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
You need to want to do the work. Don't do it just for the money, do it for the love of the art.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I'm a huge people pleaser, i dont feel like im doing my job correctly until someone is satisfied with their massage.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I dont travel often because of financial reasons but if i could i would travel all around the world.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur for 2 years now and i have loved every second of it. If everything works out id love to be able to do this into my elder years.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
YES! You need a thorough understanding of how the body works and how to work the muscles.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them happy and relaxed. I want them to feel like their stress just melted away and that they would see me as an escape from the outside world.
