DavidPham's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Aug 14, 2023
- I had a psychotherapist in my twenties, and she really helped me work through a decent amount of deep-seated trauma from her embodied attention (in a way that previous therapists weren't able to). I'm really grateful for that.
I also receive non-erotic professional massage that felt AMAZINGLY relaxing at the mainstream spa places, and erotic massage from other professional sex workers on this website that made me come into a different galaxy! *drool* 🥵
I really want to bring that quality of attention, touch, and schmexiness (obviously from the last example only: my psychotherapist and spa therapist are in different lines of work from erotic massage 😂) that I've received in these experiences to my current and prospective clients! :)
- This doesn't distinguish me from ALL others, but I do hope a strong selling point of mine is that I'm a certified massage therapist that *actually* knows how to give a quality, relaxing massage with satisfying depth (you might be surprised by how much deep pressure I can apply, despite my leaner frame 😜). By that, I mean that I'm neither just rubbing oil all over your body, nor hurting you because I'm applying deep pressure insensitively. I'll work with you to find the sweet spot! ^_^
The other distinguishing factors include me being a pretty good listener and question asker, and I also can connect with you intellectually if that is a turn-on as well ;) Let's nerd out! 😎
- It depends. Some masseurs have great natural talent, and others started out so-so, but become AMAZINGLY successful through hard work and study through formal school, or the informal "school of life." IMO, successful massage therapists have great interpersonal and communication skills, are present, can nonjudgmentally work with bodies of different sizes, ages, and race/ethnicities, and have an excellent quality of touch.
- I like to read, cook food for myself and my friends (I've really been getting into South Indian food, Vietnamese food, and applying tips from Samin Nosrat's excellent cookbook called "Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat"). I also practice less of a monkey mind through meditation 🤪. I also like to smoke weed to relax (but I will be sober during our sessions--unless you like to partake too!). No hard drugs though, please! Besides that, I enjoy receiving massages for self-care and to remain inspired with new techniques!
- Satisfied, relaxed, and just feeling great in their body and about themselves! And not expected for all sessions, but for those that are open to it: the seemingly paradoxical mix of feeling wholesome and schmexy at the same time! 😉
