DynamicSolo's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I became a teacher a few years back but I still do a few massages a month. I love the connection that takes place during massage. I walk away from each session feeling revitalized.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I first began doing massage on people living with HIV/AIDS. Most of my clients have since passed but I remember how incredibly grateful they were for the touch; for the connection to another person. It solidified my decision to forge into the profession,
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely...extremely successful. I am so happy to be passing my skills onto my partner and excited about sharing them with others.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Loved. It’s that simple. Of course I want them to feel relaxed, at ease, etc. but I want them to walk away and feel that for their time with us, they weren’t judged, shamed...they were accepted, loved and treated with respect.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It initially began as a stepping stone to going back to school to finish up a degree. I honestly thought I would only be doing it for a few years. Fast forward 25 years later and I still love it.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I do believe that with the right intention and heart, anyone can give you a rundown. However I think some s holing is necessary if your going to call yourself a deep tissue therapist. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can seriously injure someone.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
My partner and I travel for the whole summer between school years. This year we are spending the summer in Thailand.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
First of all, my years of experience. Very few therapists on here can claim 25 years in the business, Second, we are offering four hands at your disposal. Receiving a massage from two men, dedicated to your entire well-being is rare. We offer the heart and soul of what massage therapy is meant to be.
