Eli's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
How can I forget. At that time I was living in Des Moines and he was in town for business related event. Naturally the moment he saw me he noticed the anxiety pumping threw my veines and was extremely polite and respectful. After that evening he became one of my regular clients that I have the opportunity to see every 2 weeks.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I would hope that my clients know this already by now but if there is only one fact that I want them to know is how greatfull I am. I absolutely enjoy the time I spend with each client, build a unique connection while providing a relaxing escape from their daily life even if its for that one hour. I can honestly say that I enjoy the work I do and I appreciate every client because of them I am able to be independent and keep a roof over my head.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
When a potential client reaches out to me I make sure that I listen to them and answer any questions that they might have. If possible I recommend them to call me because I believe that being able to hear one another puts us both at ease and more comfortable.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
I would advise anyone that wants to be a Masseur to continue on learning. Everyday I learn something new and its not as easy of a job as one might think...so be ready to work hard and give it a 100 % with every client.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I believe that I have found my purpose, the fact that when my clients want to take a break from their busy lives and relax....I am honored to have the opportunity to share that time with them and do anything it takes to melt their stress away.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
The massage sessions that I offer are customised and designed to accommodate that clients desire and needs. I feel that because I am open to my client's requests it makes the massage experience more intimate and special for the both of us. Ultimately my goal is for my client to enjoy and benefit from a session that they find memorable and fully satisfying.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
If a person is passionate and truly loves what they do, in my opinion yes they can have a difficult time doing anything else. However, I believe that would apply in any profession. So I guess what im trying to say is that I will be cautious not to find myself missing message because especially in this feild of work there is so much to learn and there are brilliant individuals that continue to come up with something new. My plan is to grow in this profession and not outgrow it. I find this profession extremely rewarding and wouldn't give it up for anything in the world.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I don't just offer a massage, I offer an experience that hopefully builds a connection that continues to benefit us both.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I believe the meaning of success may vary depending on the individual, my idea of being successful is to wake up have the privelage to do what I adore, the passion I have for this job is what molded me into a successful Profesional with the skill and experience that guarantees a satisfied client.
