EricMantoMan's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
While enjoying a very rewarding career in modern dance, I also worked as a nude model for photographers
One photographer who was also a massage therapist asked me if I would like to be his partner in four handed massage
I enthusiastically accepted!
I worked with him for about four months, doing one or two massages a day
I found it very satisfying helping men feel good
Years later when the economy crashed (around 2008), I remembered that experience and was confident that I could do it again on my own
I met my first client at his hotel where we worked for one hour
All those feelings of satisfaction, pleasure, connection — came flooding back!
I truly felt I had found my second calling after dance
I still derive great pleasure in helping men feel good
Put simply I love providing men with what they need for their health and well-being
Whether it be thorough therapeutic massage, deep tissue work, plain and simple relaxation or sensual/erotic connection
If the man I’m working with feels good then so do I!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I don’t intend to miss my days as a masseur because I don’t intend to stop doing it!
The camaraderie and man-to-man bonding that I experience while giving a massage is deeply satisfying
It is something I will never grow tired of
I feel like massage between men is an exchange of kindness and I almost always get as much as I give
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I hope he feels that he got what he came for and a more
I always talk with the first time client before meeting, in this way I get an idea of what that particular man needs and wants
I endeavor to provide that through a body, mind, spirit connection
I want him to feel a physical change, whether that’s simply relaxation or the relief of aches and pains
I also want him to feel that he has been taken care of with expertise and kindness
And that the man to man connection he felt with me was so satisfying that he can’t wait to come back and see me again!
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Through my 28 years of professional dancing, I have developed highly sensitized physical intuition
Because of this, the way I interact physically with each client is unique based on how our bodies and energies work together
I rarely touch two men in the same way, it all depends on our unique connection
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am very strong and will provide an excellent thorough therapeutic massage to the pressure and depth my client requires
However I am highly skilled at seamlessly mixing therapeutic, sensual and erotic touch
The result is a profoundly healing, Invigorating and relaxing massage experience!
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a Masseur because I love helping men feel good!!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want him to feel that he got what you came for
I always speak a new client on the phone before we meet so I can get an idea of what he wants and needs
I want him to feel that he was taken care of by an expert and that our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual connection was deeply-felt and meaningful
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
There are three things present in the massage room: therapist, client and the experience
Each experience must be different because it will be based on the distinct connection between the two individuals in the room
Don’t be married to a set vocabulary of strokes
Always be open to the possibility and necessity that new and different strokes will occur with each individual and in each individual session!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I’ve been a masseur for 12 years
Connecting with other men in this way is extremely nourishing to me and I will continue taking care of them and help them feel good for us long as I’m able!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Success can be measured in many ways
I feel very successful because I believe the work that I do is very important and I derive great pleasure in it’s practice!
