EssensualTouch's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
First and foremost I can only go by what others tell me and that has been awesome and spurred me on. Secondly I can only be successful to the extent that I enjoy interacting with my clients, giving the most I have to give, and providing a wonderful period of time out.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
For many years, off and on, and for as long as someone would like to be massaged and enjoy being massaged by me.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I would want them to leave feeling that their experience was truly awesome, truly amazing, truly uplifting.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training provides skills and technique but what really makes a masseur successful is something far more intangible.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I chanced upon it. My mom, when I was a teen, sometimes used to have me massage her shoulders when she came home from work. And I absolutely didn't understand at that time what massage could be. So it surprised me when I discovered I could really get into as a giver, not than just as a receiver.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Before spending money, offer some free massage, like to friends, and that way find out if it's something that really would appeal to you long term. Once you know that decide on where you want to go next in picking up skills and technique, what sorts of traditions and modalities interest you. Perhaps most of all allow yourself the freedom to hone your intuitive skills, let your hands talk and listen.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel on occasion. Although I can do just as well staying in town.
