FinnSawyer's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
The first time I realized that I wanted to be a body worker was when I was sneaking off to raves at 16 years old. I always found myself in the cuddle puddles taking turns giving and receiving love from everyone.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
There is a particular energy that goes into providing this line of therapeutic touch. I don't know so much if the work itself is addictive or if it is observing the client basking in their afterglow that I enjoy more.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I consider myself a successful body worker, yes. I am successful at providing a perfect mix of therapeutic and relaxing touch that is bond to soothe the achiest of aches.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am incredibly charismatic and intuitive. With every profession I have been in it has all been customer service focused.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
My ultimate goal when providing service to someone is to make sure they feel their absolute best when they roll off of my table. I think ultimate relaxation happens when the client is comfortable enough to let go of all the daily stressors and succumb to melting into the table as each muscle is relived of its tensions
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I have several things that I enjoy in my free time. I love to garden and landscape. I also enjoy transforming my look from time to time. I like to keep it fresh for the kids. I am a student of psychedelic psychology as well so I enjoy exploring mind expansions in various forms.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a body worker because I really did not know what else I wanted to do with my life. It just made sense to combined the two things I enjoy, bringing relaxing pleasure to people while being of service to them.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
If you are thinking about becoming a therapist, go for it. If you have a desire to help others and you don't have reservations about the type of people you are willing to work on then you will do great. I approach every client as a new opportunity to learn something while also providing them with something to learn from me as well. the best interactions are those that each person feels fulfilled by the service.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am unique to myself and the way I work because we all have something different to offer. I am versed in a variety of modalities that allow for me to provide a wide range of touch techniques that are customized to each client. No two massages of mine are ever the same.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been practicing massage for over 15 years now. I will probably continue to do body work in some capacity for as long as my hands work. I know I will for sure continue to see clients regularly until I have completed my education in psychedelic psychology.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I do not travel as much as I would like. I would love to be a nomad, traveling from city to city bringing pleasure wherever I go.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I do not believe that extensive training is necessarily required to be successful, but I do believe all other extensive training programs will provide you with more knowledge on how to navigate the body more effectively.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
My goal is to provide each of my clients with the time to completely unwind and relax. I hope that when they peel themselves off of my table their body feels a bit like Jello.
