FurryManJames's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
To be honest, my first client was miserable. He was horribly addicted to some very hard drugs...fortunately I stuck with it and discovered something that I truly enjoy and take pride in.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely, I love being able to make people happy and relaxed through touch.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Success to me (as a masseur) is about the client's level of happiness...in which case, yes, I consider myself to be a very successful masseur.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I always strive to be a better person...in all aspects of my life. I try to apologize when I am wrong, stay compassionate and empathetic for others and, most-importantly, eating my dailly slice of humble pie.
I am also goin' to grad school to build more trains for public transportation. I plan to redesign American cities for people and not for cars.
I'm also an activist of many sorts including for the banning of gay and gender conversion therapy across the US and the world.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Very, very happy. :)
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to cook (and share my healthy cooking!), go to the gym, be in nature when the weather is nice, I love to read and watch documentaries about social/political issues and/or the latest science and I also love to meditate.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To be connected with others and to make them happy. I like feeling needed and I also love making others feel relaxed and happy. I'm a very social person.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Know how to find the tension in others bodies and know what kind of pressure to apply. Ask them if you need help finding those tense areas.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I always have a positive attitude. :)
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been doing massage for the last five years. I plan to do it for a few more years until I become a City Planner...even then I may still massage. :)
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel often. Make sure you take a look at my travel schedule. :)
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Absolutely, but that training can be formal *or* informal. I am only informally trained.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Very, very happy. :)
