HandtwoHand's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Oct 16, 22:16

1
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- Although I have an extensive background in kinesiology, personal training (25years) and bodybuilding, I do believe one needs to know the human body and how the muscles work and trigger points. But more importantly, listen to your clients, check in with them, periodically on the pressure and are they okay. Let them know that you really do care about their well-being, through your communication with them.

2
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I traveled extensively from 1999 thru 2025. These days, I enjoy being at home, so yes I could be considered a homebody 😊

3
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- I would miss the experience that I share on a one-on-one level.

4
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I'm not really sure what distinguishes me from others. I never think that I'm better than anyone. I believe we create our own reality (whether it's good or bad or a positive or negative).
I created a very peaceful, very serene place for my class to come to relax, and let go of the stresses from the day. And forget about everything else, during the time that they spend with me.

5
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Do it for the experience that you share the person with whom you are sharing. There's nothing more important during that hour or 90 minutes, then the person who's on your table. Don't do it just for the money. If you truly have the passion for this job and do it to the best of your ability, the money will come.

6
Why did you become a Masseur?

- I became a masseur for the positive experience that I share with my clients. I've been in the helping profession my entire life. Now I get to share my positive energy, on a more personal level.

7
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- I enjoy working out at the gym (mostly for maintenance these days) even after 40 years of taking care of my body, mind and spirit. I enjoy speaking two people who are interested in being better versions of themselves, and changing their lives for the better.
I enjoy being outdoors, projects at home, I love animals, plants and just nature in general. But most of all, I am blessed in so many ways. I make my gratitude list every single day. 🙏

8
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I would want my clients to feel like they are the most important person in the time that I spend with them. I want them to feel as if they got more, than expected and money well spent.
I want them to feel rejuvenated, relaxed and full of positive energy, which I share with all of my clients.

9
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I am a former competitive bodybuilder. I am a certified personal trainer. I am a world traveler. I live a very peaceful, stress free and drama free life.
I live by the laws of the universe. What you put out there, is what you get back. I prefer to put positive energy out there, treat people with kindness and respect. Do for others when you can, but take care of yourself FIRST.
I worked in social services, state government and nonprofit for 22 years. I am a motivational speaker. I have worked with all types of people over the course of my career... From infants to 92 years of age.
I am grateful for this life and every single day that I have here on this planet. And I live each day, as if it were my last.

10
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- I am only as successful as my clients think I am. A certification shows, you passed the test. The real test, is the work that you do with your client. That comes through experience, lots of experience. If I'm not getting results for my clients, I'm probably not as good as I think I am.
