HealingHandsSoCa's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
The first Client,... yes I was nervous , but that was to be expected. I did a lot of prep work to make the session the best it
could be. As time went on things fell in place and I developed my own style of massage.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would miss the clients that turned into friends. I have a few clients/friends that have been coming to me for 11+ years.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I consider myself a successful when I see a client get up from the table and fell better, relaxed and has a smile on his face.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am an easy going, down to earth person. I have a number of interests like photography, architecture, working on my home.
I take classes at a local college this helps keep my mind sharp.
I try to stay fit by walking 4 miles a day. Oh, yes I have a slightly twisted sense of humor. I like to make people laugh.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, in a happy daze, glad he had the session and wanting to return.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Photography, Architectural drawing, walking, cooking and working in my yard.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I kind of fell into massage. I am glad I did because I am a people person.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Get some training, work out of your home if you can. Have a good washer and dryer.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I try to do the best job possible. If I think a massage is not finished in the time allowed I will go on till it is finished properly.
I have my style of massage as other masseurs do. Is my style better that others, only the client can make that call.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been a masseur for 12 years. It has been interesting.
Not sure for how much longer, we will see where life leads me.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like to travel when possible with my cameras. I like to see new things.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Training is always good for a Masseur. But good people skills and one's own style of massage are learned on the job.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
"Wow", that was amazing, why did I not do this sooner?
This should be part of my body wellness program.
I am going to schedule another session.
