JDHATX's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes I would absolutely miss it. The human touch is a necessity!!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I definitely do. Regardless of how busy I am, or not busy I am, everyone leaves satisfied.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m a singer and dancer as well as a massage therapist and nutrition coach.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relieved.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m a gamer, but not RPG. Board and video games are my thing. Also singing and dancing.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Everyone said I was good at it. And I’m not a manual labor or desk job type of person.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Definitely try it out. Some things can be learned, but the art of touch is intrinsic.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My knowledge of the human anatomy.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
This is a lifelong career. I’ve been going strong for 13 years now.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel, but not always for work. Pleasure travel is more fun. I am definitely more of a homebody but the adventure bug gets ahold of me quite often.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Not really. You have to be good, that’s a fact. No one likes a terrible masseur. Training is necessary but not extensively.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I like them to leave with no regrets.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I do remember my first client, out of school. It was a little awkward because I was so fresh out of training. But she came back as a client so I apparently did the right thing. (Yes, I work on females too).
