Christmas is coming...
Wishing all masseurs and clients a very happy Christmas and holiday time. Spend time with your family and friends and laugh, eat and be extremely merry!
Stress & Breathing
We all experience stress throughout the day. It could be a boss or colleague at work breathing down your neck whilst you're trying to finish a project or being stuck on a train that seemingly never moves.
Sometimes there is little we can do but keep trying to move in one direction, no matter how long and painful it's going to take. It affects our breathing and our blood pressure can rise, so taking a couple of minutes to fully concentrate on slow and deep breathing can really help. I use the following method that helps the mind concentrate and focus on the present....
Imagining a colour you might associate with comfort and relaxation (e.g. blue or green) take a deep breath breathing that colour in, through your nose, deep down into your stomach.
Hold for a moment.
Then imagining another colour you might associate with stress and anxiety (e.g. red or black) slowly releasing out through your mouth.
Repeating this four or five times and then return to the task in hand.
Obviously do these in a safe environment so you can fully concentrate on the technique.

Gym Time for Body & Mind
I always find a workout at the gym not only great for the body but also for the mind. It focuses me on the day ahead and also leaves me feeling calmer and able to deal with whatever is ahead. A coffee or a pre workout drink can help get me in the mood. Have a good day London.
