What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
If it's something that you enjoy doing, then I would say go for it; especially if you are in college and looking for a second job, or maybe you're a little older and have found out that you enjoy it, so why not give it a shot. You'll never know unless you try it. I think you definitely need to be a "people person" and enjoy interacting with others and be willing to listen to their concerns and show genuine concern for what's going on in their life. You just never know how you may help someone else.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been officially a masseur since 2016, however, I have been massaging my friends for several years before becoming official. It's been always something that came naturally to me. I hope to be able to massage as long as my body allows me to.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
A good foundation in massage therapy is certainly important, and I have over the years taken more classes in different types of massage styles including Thai, pressure point, stretching and several different Tantra techniques. However, practicing massage while having a natural ability is just as important in my opinion. I've learned many things by doing and altered learned techniques to suite my personal style for the best results for my clients and myself.
