LamarForMen's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Jan 28, 2022
- I enjoy doing the following in my spare time:
- Reading self-help books and young adult fiction
- Binge-watching TV and films on Netflix and Hulu
- Going out to eat
- Exercising
- Hiking and going on walks
- Donating to heart-warming causes on GoFundMe
- Volunteering in community organizations
- I do think being a successful & true masseur is addictive. If you truly want to help people, it's in your blood, you can't fake it. If I take a couple of days off, my body aches and craves to help and heal others. I am great at what I do, and I love it! I very much enjoy massaging; I always have. Becoming a masseur was a decision that came naturally. I have done many other things in my life as I enjoy diversity in all things. But massaging is the one thing I always come back to, it's just part of my nature.
- I love to travel, I prefer traveling to the client more than hosting. Traveling gives me the chance to see the world around me. I frequently travel all over NJ, NY, PA, CT, DE, MA, MD, VA, & Washington DC for both incall & outcall massage appointments.
- I have been officially a masseur since 2016, however, I have been massaging my friends for several years before becoming official. It's been always something that came naturally to me. I hope to be able to massage as long as my body allows me to.
- I have been massaging for over several years and have learned many techniques along the way to help my clients. However, all the knowledge in the world would be worth much if it wasn't for my intuition. My intuition tells me how to best approach an area and how to choose the best way of addressing the issue for the best possible outcome.
- My regular day job is being a self-employed math and SAT prep tutor. I initially decided to become a masseur to supplement my income during the slow summer months, which is when my tutoring service takes a massive hit due to the students being on summer vacation, but now I am a full-time masseur year-round because I genuinely love it!
- If by "successful," you mean having very satisfied repeat clients who can't wait for their next massage, then yes, I am a very successful masseur. :-)
- I'll always remember my very first client, it was the manager of a movie theater I frequently attended. I think he was much more nervous than I was being that he was married. He is still a regular client and I've worked many knots out of him that I've wanted to work out when I was at the theater.
- If it's something that you enjoy doing, then I would say go for it; especially if you are in college and looking for a second job, or maybe you're a little older and have found out that you enjoy it, so why not give it a shot. You'll never know unless you try it. I think you definitely need to be a "people person" and enjoy interacting with others and be willing to listen to their concerns and show genuine concern for what's going on in their life. You just never know how you may help someone else.
- I'm a kind person who always believes in the power of giving back and volunteering, which I way I donate 5% of my net earnings to The Trevor Project, a gay teen suicide hotline that helped me as a struggling bisexual teen and another 5% to an individual with a powerful story on GoFundMe.
- I absolutely want them to have an sensual experience that they won't forget. If I do my part, then many do come back and new friendships get made.
- A good foundation in massage therapy is certainly important, and I have over the years taken more classes in different types of massage styles including Thai, pressure point, stretching and several different Tantra techniques. However, practicing massage while having a natural ability is just as important in my opinion. I've learned many things by doing and altered learned techniques to suite my personal style for the best results for my clients and myself.
- I would like for them to feel very satisfied, relaxed, and got their money's worth. I wish for my clients to walk away with the feeling that they have gotten a lot more then they hoped for. If I exceeded the expectations, I have done my work right.
