LegitProMassage's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Apr 23, 15:16
- Rested, peaceful and tranquil. As a licensed professional of several decades, my style is definitely therapeutic. This is the style you can expect in a clinical setting or spa. Thank you so much for understanding and keeping that in mind if you decide to schedule.
Declining a client request represents a professional boundary and not a personal rejection. Please keep that in mind when scheduling and during your session. Having clear expectations of what is and is not offered will ensure your overall satisfaction. Thanks
- Yes, he was such a nice man. A farmer by trade, he needed a lot of heavy pressure in his back, shoulders and quads. We did an intensive 90 minute session together. He was so appreciative by the conclusion; he scheduled many more times over the years.
- For about over 20 years. I would like to continue for as long as possible. I am blessed to live out my dream career helping others.
- I truly enjoy helping people and this is a great way to do so. It's an ancient form of healing therapy balancing the physical and non physical. It can be viewed in a solely modern, western medicinal way, or also in conjunction with its ancient roots in Kundalini or Reiki energy work between administrator and recipient. Outcome is recipient intention and practitioner skill based.
- Avoid smoking or consuming caffeine the day of your session. Remember to silence your phone and smart watch. The best way is to switch to airplane mode, do not disturb or silent. Avoid any heavy, especially meaty meals prior to coming in. Eat lightly the day of your appointment with lots of water before and after. When getting up from the table, after sitting up wait a moment before getting up and walking. Blood pressure lowers during a massage and moving too quickly may cause dizziness. Let me know how much pressure you like, areas to avoid or concentrate on. Feedback is very welcome during our session together.
- Refreshed, recharged and ready to schedule their next appointment. Consider this a much needed body tune up.
As a licensed professional of several decades, my style is strictly gentle therapeutic only. This is the style you can expect in a clinical setting or spa. I am a therapist and not an e****t. Thank you so much for understanding (and remembering!) this.
- Get as much experience as you can as quickly as possible. Books and videos are one thing, but you need practical experience to improve and eventually master the art of massage. There are lots of folks who will do a massage trade with you in addition to hiring locals or getting a membership at a spa. So get lots and lots of practice in and also know the anatomy so you know what each part is, how to work it and it's related dysfunction so you can put it all together to heal it with tissue manipulation. A good working knowledge of stretching active, passive and active assisted is very helpful as well.
- Definitely! There are some who do this as a job to pay bills, and others like myself who are called to be expert healers. I discovered massage many, many years ago and could not imagine doing anything else in my career. I certainly see myself performing massage until I retire. I receive great pleasure from helping individuals attain their health goals through professional and dedicated massage sessions. It's the perfect harmonious balance of medicine/spirituality and the physical/mental.
- Yes, I have over 20 years of service under my belt and a huge following of regulars, most of which have referred their friends and partners. Many, myself included, equate happiness as a measure of success. So, on both counts I do consider myself successful.
- There are many things that distinguish a massage master and one who "practices". For one, I have over 20 years experience. Secondly, I am an excellent listener who delivers the medical therapy requested. Moreover, I enjoy taking care of the small details that make a massage wonderful: temperature, lighting, quality oil and creme, sheets and table. Most of my regulars have purchased packages as they feel at home with me and our sessions together.
- Charlotte is my full time home base. I have a wonderful dedicated space that is quiet, private and just for you. Sometimes I will travel. You can add me to wishlist and see current city to see where I am. Travel is enjoyable and perhaps my one of my favorite parts of this work. I get to see new cities, revisit old favorites as well meet wonderful new clients and reconnect with existing ones. Ask me anytime if I am headed to your city, if you send me your cell, I will text you when I know firm dates.
- Absolutely. Also, the right teacher is critical to correctly train the individual. Part of training would not only be instruction, but also practical application. There is much to be learned by giving and receiving massages from a variety of different people. One learns the right, and wrong, way of doing things. Personal skills such as good listening, empathy and technical know-how are all essential and finely tuned during the training process. I am fortunate to have had excellent teachers and many years of practice to master the art of massage.
Having clear session expectations will ensure your treatment satisfaction. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the massage. Thanks
- I graduated from Georgia Medical Institute, and have thoroughly enjoyed a career in helping people through licensed massage therapy. For hobbies, I enjoy volunteering, hiking, running, lifting, reading, gardening, meditation and travel.
Others would describe me as a loyal friend and good listener. I like meeting new people and learning about their life and what they like to do. Massage has been a perfect career for me as I receive great pleasure from helping others heal injuries as well as feel and operate at their best.
