MassageByJed's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Oct 04, 19:20
- I've been doing massage for over 20 years, but I've been a professional, running my own business, for almost a decade. I really love it. I don't have any plans to stop anytime soon!
- I've studied anatomy and physiology and massage technique and how to run a business, and I've also studied erotic massage and energy work. Some folks may be great masseurs without much training, but I think my training really helps me as a professional in being able to address any issues that can come up in a session.
- I want to help people feel more at home in their bodies. I spent years enjoying touching people - giving friends back rubs and massages. I've always loved it, and after years of great feedback, I'm glad decided ten years ago to make it my profession.
- I travel to the East Coast (mostly Boston, sometimes Provincetown or New York) every August for a month to see clients and also have some relaxation time. I also visit Palm Springs frequently.
- In a session with me, the whole body comes first, and any sensual work enriches the whole-body experience. I'm skilled at transitioning from deep tissue work (on your shoulders, for example) to soothing sensual strokes at your butt or your groin that will help you relax even deeper, and I touch every part of your body as I work. I'm also happy to include a lot of gentle holding, kissing, and similar intimate work, to help you feel comfortable and cared for.
- I love the look on people's faces after a session. They look relaxed, refreshed, happy, and often a little sleepy. It's great when they can feel the shift in their body from before the session to afterward. I want them to feel release - like all the tension and stress is gone.
- I'm a good communicator. I make sure that clients know what to expect, and I take time to find out what my clients want from a session. I check in frequently during the session to be sure folks are feeling good, and to give them a chance to mention any needs we may not have already discussed. I want my clients to feel really comfortable with me.
- I really love being a massage therapist. Helping people heal through touch is something that makes me feel really happy and fulfilled. And it's wonderful to see clients lives improve, as their pain decreases, mobility increases, and their moods shift to happier, more content, and resilient.
- I've always loved massages, both giving and receiving. I was that person in school always giving backrubs. As an adult, I took Body Electric classes years ago and really enjoyed it. After that, I gave lots of massages, but not professionally. About ten years ago, I decided to go to school for massage and start my own business and I've never looked back. My first few professional massages were a little scary but also really exciting when clients told me how much better they felt after a session!
