MassageByRog's Massage Interview
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I bicycle several times per week, cook, and obsess over tennis. I read the New Yorker cover-to-cover every week, love books, and watch too many documentaries. I also enjoy anything sensual!
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Being a great massage therapist is facilitated by solid training. To go beyond the superficial rubdown, I believe that even a basic relaxation or sensual massage benefits from a foundation of training in the therapeutic aspects. That's why I'm trained (National Holistic Institute - 900 hours) and certified (California) and regularly participate in continuing education programs.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been in the business professionally since 2016. Massage therapy is my second career. I was able to retire early from my corporate career. I wanted to do something more meaningful and fun, and I'm enjoying massage work immensely. Hopefully I'll be doing to retirement and beyond!
Why did you become a Masseur?
A massage therapist fixed a serious neck issue I was having, and for which chiropractic and physical therapy had not been successful. And he did it while still providing that relax/spa vibe. That's what initially sparked my interest in becoming a certified massage therapist.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
-I want more!
-I feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
-My body feels great and pain-free.
-I had a good connection with Rog.
-I would recommend Rog to a friend.
-That massage was not only fun, but it benefited me physically. But mainly it was fun! LOL
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would miss (and did miss while I was closed for covid) hearing that I made my clients feel great. Positive feedback is good for my soul.
