MassageWithJake's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I love my job. I am very great at what I do, and I love sharing my gift with others. Ultimately providing relief and allowing people to feel great in their bodies is a wonderful gift I have to share.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Absolutely, never have complaints!
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I’m a very down to earth type of guy. Definitely different from the average gay male in the scene, and I pride myself on being who I am and true to me at all times. I believe how we treat others and behave in this life comes back around to us full force, and i’ve gotten far in life by being a great person!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
That they loved their service and can’t wait to come back again!
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My favorite things in life are music, food and people, so I spend a lot of my time with great friends, attending music festivals and shows, and dining out at all sorts of establishments.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It just seemed like the natural progression for me. I always had a way with my hands ever since I was a kid, so getting an amazing training and developing a career from it seemed natural.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I would say my training definitely sets me apart. I trained at one of the top schools here in the US with a team of amazing teachers. I did my yoga teacher training while living in Bali, Indonesia, where I also learned some Thai massage as well as developed existing techniques with my teachers. I have been a fan of massage for so long, and receive regularly, so I also know what I expect out of a good massage and always provide that to my clients.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel and take any chance I get to see a new place, but in between trips I am definitely a home body. Love to spend time with my two pups cuddling at home.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I believe that the roots of a good massage therapist are something that comes naturally. Many people train to become a massage therapist but ultimately don’t have the flow, fluidity or ability to provide a good service. My training taught me to build upon what came to me naturally, creating a unique and enjoyable experience for me to provide.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I’ve been massaging for years, longer than I can count! Ultimately I am aiming to open my own wellness center and be the business owner and operator, but certainly massage therapy will be a big part of my business!
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was my aunt when I was just a kid! She knew these hands were gold and would give me money to do kid stuff to work out the kinks in her neck and back.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
To massage with your heart.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I always aim for my clients to feel satisfied and wanting more!
