Had my 1st session with Michael and hands down (pun intended) he gave me the best deep tissue massage I've had in years. After reading all his 5 star reviews I reached out to him for his availability and he responded back within in minutes with his availability and my 2hr session was on the books. Within our correspondence I provided him information on my problem areas and he explained in detail his experience, specialty and what to expect while on his table. As stated in all his reviews he's a hugger and as soon as you enter his space he makes you feel welcomed and that you're in a secure space, after seeing his hairy body in person the pictures don't do him justice. Michael's hands were like magic, he intuitively knew the right amount of pressure needed for each specific area of my body. He consistently checked in on me making sure I was alright, he was very easy to hold a conversation with. There was no need to use heated massage oils, the heat generated from his hands transferred to my body as he massaged me making the message that much better, the pressure plus that warmth equated to my total relaxation. One area required him to apply more pressure and good deep into the muscle, he took all the time needed for the muscle to release the tension held up in it at which point my body was totally at ease and relaxed. His massage resulted in no more tension in my lower back, all the knots in my shoulders gone. He gave a deep tissue massage with the right amount of pressure, intuitively knew the areas needing the most attention leaving my body totally relaxed feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Can't wait for session number two.

This was hands down the best massage of my life. Mike is muscular, manly, and covered with fur. Welcomed me warmly into his apartment, discussed a few issues, and then he went right to work. This was not a "standard" massage. By that I mean: he didn't spend 45 minutes on my back and shoulders, leaving a short period of time for legs, feet, etc. He moved from one body part to another as he worked, in such a way that I wasn't sure where he was going next. He has huge muscles and tremendous strength. I like very deep pressure and his hands felt great. After being on his table for just a few minutes, and realizing what an incredible experience it was going to be, I asked if we could do 90 minutes instead of one hour. Thankfully, he was able to accommodate the request. He is rugged, natural and manly. I can't recommend him highly enough. There are hundreds of masseurs in NYC on this site. MuscleBearNYC is the real deal. I was mid vacation and suffering dreadful tension in my neck, shoulder and lower back. Communication and arranging an appointment was great even though he doesn’t always work weekends. Michael worked wonders on my shoulder, going really deep to soften all the tension I had. He took time to ask me several questions about my work and desk position etc and even gave me some follow up exercises to avoid recurring tension.
The sensual elements were nicely woven into the therapeutic massage and I left totally relaxed. Oh and he’s one really sweet guy too. Thoroughly recommended!
