ReikiJack's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
One of my first clients was a successful banker who was nervous about passing an important test. We placed the intention that loving Reiki energy would help him the following day during the exam. He called me after and said he passed with flying colors.
When I received a Reiki session in Amsterdam, I knew it was something I wanted to learn and integrate into deep body work. The bliss and natural high was so genuine that I had to find away that I could share this.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I think of myself as a modern shaman, and massage with healing energy will always be a way that I express that. Indefinitely, I see myself creating time and space for seekers to attune and find their flow.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes.
It's the most stable and fruitful job that I have ever had.
The well being industry is growing, and I'm a part of that.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I'm very spiritual and expressive.
I've created this way of working in order to balance my career as a writer and performer.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Ease and trust about living and loving.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy learning the guitar and capoeira or dance classes.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It just happened.
I started studying Reiki and massage techniques, and then with the internet I found myself booking clients.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Every serious masseur needs a personal website.
In addition, orientate the client during a first session, let him know what to expect.
Also, it's helpful to have some clear boundaries. Yes, the lines get blurred, but it helps.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Since 2004, I have been working professionally as a masseur. I have given over 4,000 sessions and can assure that you are in good hands. I will continue as long as I am alive. This is an awesome way to connect and be with people.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel uplifted and inspired.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I send you on a healing journey. You'll feel better for days and this technique supports healthy decisions and habits. We also get very cozy and there's an emphasis on the connection, which as social monkeys we all crave.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Some training and a professional attitude with their own website are important. I have my own site with the purpose of creating trust. Clients can read about my roots, my passions, and most importantly the wonderful reviews that I have collected over the years. Having given more than 3,000 sessions, I know that experience and care are highly valuable. Plus, talent with touch. I know some people don't understand how to caress and soothe.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel to NYC, Philadelphia, and Europe. I don't travel when I have a situation to host. One, I feel safer in my environment as well as having everything set up to create the ideal session. Candlelight, the massage table, healing music and a calming atmosphere work to generate the loving vibe.
