Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes, very much. I like bonding with my clients.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
My clients are my priority. My goal is to bring them my best.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like them to feel that they made the right decision when they chose to see me for their massage.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to improve myself, so I enjoy learning. I take online courses for education, growth and development, and join meet-up groups for activities I enjoy such as circus performance and long distance running.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
No, although it is helpful. Extensive training is great to have and definitely helps prepare a massage therapist for their work, but it doesn't take extensive training to develop your own touch.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been working as a massage therapist for 2 years and I love it. I want to keep going for a good 20 years at least.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I enjoy the health and wellness industry. So being part of it feels good and makes sense to me.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Refreshed, renewed, cleansed.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel frequently. I like getting out of the house every chance I get. Life is more exciting outdoors.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
It's great for a profession, but with any profession or career, only do it if you love it.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My client was happy to see me, excited that I make house calls, and relieved that their pain bothered them much less than when I arrived. I was happy that I got to work with them regularly afterwards. And after several months of treatment, they didn't have symptoms of pain anymore.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
Every massage therapist has their own touch. I like to focus on deep tissue. It's gets into the muscles and gets something done. I like leaving a session knowing that I left my client in a better condition than when I found them.
