CORY_MASSEUR's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I like giving massages, I like the touching of another person's body. Here is an interesting factoid for you: I love giving massages but no not like receiving them... strange I know, Perhaps I havn't met the right person yet..haha.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
What makes someone a successful masseur? If it's the large number of amazing regulars I have or how everyone says that they like all the "bonus'" I provide like: aromatherapy, clay eye masks, aromatherapy candles, pillow sprays before and during the session or that clients say after the session that "its the best massage I have ever had" or the large selection of High Quality Products I use in the session like: Aveda (American), Saje (Canadian) and Ahava (Isreli) quality products then YES I guess I'am successful. I care how people feel and that they get a good quality massage experience. Yes these products are expensive to buy and not cheap but I believe in investing in my work.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I like people. I really do. Everyone has a story, some may be more interesting then others but everyone has one. I like to talk and like talking with people. People are interesting, everyone has a story to tell.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want them to feel satisfied. That they got a good quality massage. That they enjoyed their experience with me.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel all the time. I have literally been everywhere. There was this link online I saw last year: you type in how many places you have been or click on the map to highlight places you have seen. After all that your results are shown. I have been to 144 countries/places. Pretty good given my relatively young age.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Experience, Happiness, Caring, Honesty, Intellect and Marketing is what you need to be successful in this business.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I like what I do and I care what other people think and feel: Everyone has feelings, Everyone likes to be touched and to know that they matter and are worth something. I keep these things in mind when I give a massage. Clients comment "you have great hands" or "you have a good touch"... I believe that my thoughts and feelings about people can be felt by the recipient (Client).
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Give a good quality massage experience and they will come. More importantly they will come back as a "regular".
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Travel. I love experiencing new things.
Why did you become a Masseur?
To be painfully honest: I needed to pay off my schooling, credit card bills... basically experience life.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I was nervous, I didn't know if I would be good enough. My client was very nice, mid 30's and after the session he said "I have good hands" and that he enjoyed the session. It made me feel good.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Satisfied and that they received everything that they wanted or expected.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
6 years now. I will continue as long as there is interest in my services.
