MASSAGE_BEST's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I remember I was still studying in Sydney, Australia to became a massage therapist. I still had to do my clinical hours. Although I decided I could start doing massage. I was a little bit nervous and I remember being a bit 'mechanical' with my movements.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
To be honest, I like being able to contribute giving quality of life. What I mean is that if you Know what you are doing as professional therapist you will make a difference with your treatment so I am addicted to see my costumers happy faces when the session it's done.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I am a successful Masseur. I also give massage to all types of people. I am currently working with companies that manage tourist apartments in the city of Barcelona so I provide my service of massage and yoga to all types of tourist, male or female which gives me the opportunity to meet new interesting people. I am also studying different techniques of holistic treatments.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Well, I consider myself well travelled down to earth guy. I believe in finding a 'balance' in everything. I like that I am able to treat, listen and chat with any people with respect and integrity.
I love nature, outdoors sports, friends and laugh.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like my customer to feel relaxed physically and mentally. I want him/them to remember not only my appearance but also the whole experience that I provided them. When I work I am 100% present.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I like movies, music, reading, dancing and the company of my friends. I like to drink a beer aor ether go to the theatre, I do acting classes once a week. I go to a dancing session call Static Dance and I like to go to my apartment at the beach to have a break from the city.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I became a Massage Therapist because I like touching, relaxing and improving the quality of that person in case he/she has a pain or injury.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
I will recommend to do a course to became a professional one and know the protocol, hygiene, techniques, anatomy so they can be confident of what are doing.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I think I provide an experience I personally never found in another masseurs. The smells, music, candles.. I have received many massages in my life and I think my touch and my unic energy it' s what makes a big difference.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have been doing treatments for the last six years and regardless if I will do that job for many other years I will always like touch and massage.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I have a very centric studio in Barcelona so I prefer to do homebody. Although I have two massage tables and the second one is for me to travel to hotels or apartments.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
It' s super important to do some training to be able to be successful and provide a safety service to avoid injuries.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I always make sure they have everything they need. A glass of water, warm blanket in winter, clean towels, the right music, the amount of light for them to relax and my positive attitude. I guarantee a great massage they will never forget.
