NJHANDS's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I started as a fine artist; I did a figure photo project and concluded that I did not know the body that well. I wanted to learn anatomy and then..... off to massage school. What I learned was AMAZING. MASSAGE SCHOOL is essential; it trains you as a professional and gives you the needed skills to truly help people's bodies function better.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I love doing massage, teaching massage, getting a massage. The body is so amazing I would so miss it more than words can say. Massage gets deeper and deeper the more you practice it. Man-4-Man massage can also get to incredible places, especially when men EXPAND their ideas around TOUCH. IT IS BROADER THAN ***TIME, GUYS!!!!!! I get a bit frustrated when I see so many "MASSEURS" manipulating clients' desires. My work is designed to wake men up to their bodies and not use their wallets.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes my clients return over and over now for 14 years. I must be doing something correctly.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a nice guy who is into helping others feel amazing.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, refreshed, and on the road to recovery. I want you more educated about the body you inhabit when you step off my table.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a visual artist working away in my studio. I am a massage educator working to EXPAND THE MINDS OF MEN around all forms of touch.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I fell in love with the practice of Massage.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
DO IT!!! IT WILL TEACH YOU MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE.
You must take this responsibility seriously and get educated. If you think you can get some oil take a weekend workshop, and off you go, you are doing the world of massage and yourself a disservice!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I am the real deal. I am a proud, highly trained, and educated body professional. I teach the other guys what to do.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
15+ years now, and I will do it as long as I have hands.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I like clients to visit my beautiful massage studio, then if it's a good match I can sometimes travel to them, however, I am busy.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
YES! otherwise, it's just a rub down; it's that simple. Don't get me wrong, all conscious consensual touch is amazing, however, when you work with someone who knows anatomy and the ins and outs of why your body is reacting the way it is, your message will go from good to great.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I work on my end to make it great. I leave it up to them to feel what they feel on their end.
