NZdreaming's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
There is definitely something about the human touch that is quite unlike any other kind of therapy. As far as it being 'addictive', I can definitely see why I might miss it, since I always feel like I have done something great for someone when I leave and there's something that feels really good about that, for me anyway.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Always be ON TIME.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Some will argue yes and some might say you just need to have 'the touch'. Personally, I have always been pretty good at giving massages and my partners always loved my technique before I started training so I had a fairly good background to work from.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
In New York City? Probably my nationality (New Zealander).
Everywhere else? My gregariousness and an ability to make people laugh.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Less than six months as a paid masseur but longer if you count my training and the free massages I would give to friends and lovers. I started it as an inbetween type of job, but I think I will continue with it in my spare time once I start working again. I really enjoy it!
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Energized, Invigorated and On Top of The World.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Like they got their money's worth. Also that I was on time and professional.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to explore and have been very lucky in my life to have visited a great many places. Since living in New York City, though, my opportunities for travelibg have been more limited, since this city it is so damn expensive!
