RelaxWithKen's Massage Interview
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Relaxed, cozy, maybe a little sleepy. Ideally they enjoyed the session thoroughly and I was able to help them destress a bit, regardless of what's happening in their lives.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I've always enjoyed massages and the sense of touch, and have been receiving massages for quite some time. With some encouragement from individuals who've expressed comfort in my touch, I thought this would be a great way to give back to the massage community, and the rest was history!
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
That it was worth their time to check me out. Having experienced good *and* bad massages, I know one of the worst feelings is when someone ends the session prematurely for a quick turnover. This will never be the case in my sessions, I want my clients to enjoy the full session that they're paying for.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes! I was very nervous leading up to it, but once the music started and I got in my zone, it felt rather natural. I was able to provide a calm and soothing touch to my client and he left very relaxed!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Ask us any questions you may have! Some have been in this trade for a while, and I've found that many were open to chatting about the practice and describing their experiences when they were just starting out. It's a pretty welcoming network and community (that I've found).
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Yes. It's been a pleasure being able to provide some comfort to individuals through massage, and I would love to be able to do this for many years to come
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Aside from weightlifting, I enjoy trying new restaurants and chilling with video games
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
At least a few times a year. I would love to travel more and explore different food scenes though!
