Sirsamlucas's Massage Interview
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I would like my clients to feel relieved physically, mentally and emotionally.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am a musician and my favorite instrument would have to be the guitar.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I enjoy helping people feel better. I like Anatomy and would like to continue to become a personal trainer. With Massage, I get a hands on feeling on where your body has misalignments or energy-related imbalances
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Love what you do
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I definitely enjoy traveling and like to incorporate it into my work whenever I get the opportunity
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Absolutely. Knowledge of Anatomy is essential to understand the map of the body. Knowledge and understanding of physiology can help in applying the correct techniques to best alleviate and release tension. All bodies are not the same and it's important to continue studying and updating our skills through available sources to remain informed on the latest developments in physical therapy.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Above all else, I would like that my clients feel they were cared for whenever I am with them.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
My first client was while I was working at a major massage establishment in Covina in the summer of 2019. It was a female client and it was set up as a couples massage, two therapists in one room working on one of the pair each. I was nervous and not very experienced. Everyone was sweet as they could easily tell I was new at this. My first day was definitely a learning experience.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Being a massage therapist has it's perks. I feel being on my own (self employed) can be addictive having more freedom in my schedule to work around what I enjoy doing.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Yes, I do. I enjoy what I do and I believe it shows. I take care of myself and I try my best with each client whether new or returning to do the same for them.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I love animals, and I believe they can teach us how to communicate more efficiently.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My life experiences may not be unique, but the way I've evolved with them has made me into what I feel is a unique being. Empathy, awareness, skill and knowledge are just a few of the traits I bring with me as well as a strong body ready to heal and soothe.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I became a licensed massage therapist in July 2019. I would like to continue doing this in some degree until the day I die.
