AJMasseur's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Oct 28, 17:23
- Memorable! When they Leave MaleMasseur.ca Spa, they should feel a connection, wanting to keep on talking, or keep on experiencing it. I want them to feel stress free and just 'clear'.
- Not "Extensive Training" but a base understanding / education to know the body and how NOT to hurt your clients is a must, then everything else is experience and style! I think you'll learn more with practical experience than any training can teach you (above the base) HOWEVER there's SO many techniques to learn that if you're not growing and learning constantly, you're going to burn out / get bored / and give your clients less than 100% of you.
- Around 2.5-3 years or so! I have no intention of stopping any time soon, but also not opposed to life throwing curveballs and rolling with the punches!
- I used to travel quite a bit for work, now I basically live at the Spa! So Spa-Body Maybe? lol!
- I don't think I'm special by any means, but I do know I connect with certain people over others. Those I do connect with love me and I work best with open people who have a great outlook on life (or try to at times lol). I don't work well with too "serious" people. I like to have fun, engage, and work with people who want to have a regular masseur to see!
- Focus on the whole, not just the physical. There's so much more to the body than the muscles and the mind plays an unbelievable role in the entire process. Learn about people, learn how they react to certain words, approaches, environments. You will begin to paint a picture of their lives through their bodies and you can be a part of their goals in the mind and in heir body.
- I wanted something that I could do that would help people as well as allow my personality to be a part of the process. I needed a change in career, and was always complemented on my ability to give a great massage, so it all sort of fell into place!
- Lol @ "Spare Time". I am a research nut, and constantly listening to podcasts, books, and keeping up with things that excite me, that interest me. I love photography, and I love business so my spare time is working on getting better at my job, growing the business and taking some snaps when I can!
- I want it to be memorable, and fully relaxed cover to cover. There's alot of options out there, and a LOT of talented people offering massages to the level that I do so if a client leaves the spa thinking "wow, I feel amazing" that's a win for me 100%
- I am VERY versed in a TON of subjects, I can speak about real-estate, trading, stocks, financials, botany etc... I read a LOT and I have the ability to connect with people on almost any subject - Some of my clients love this, and some would rather a quiet experience. I'm here for both ;)
