Alex_bull's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes, I feel like the first client is like the first kiss. You never forget. In my experience, I was nervous but at the same I was very anxious because I wanted to try what I´ve been practicing before. So the experience was great. It was such a nice guy, we spent around 10 minutes talking before starting the massage. We were both very comfortable and the massage was fabulous for both.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would call it addiction, but I have to say that I really enjoy giving pleasure (cooking for others, giving massages, playing music for friends). I love when someone enjoy the time because of me. So I have to say that giving a massage is a way to feel relaxed myself and enjoy seeing others feeling the same because of me.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I must confess, I started recently so I feel there a long way to go, but I´m definely good at giving massages according to the feedback i always get afterwards.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
Well I´m super friendly. My idea is to make you feel comfortable, so as my profile says, I like to spend a few minutes talking before starting, as a way to feel comfortable. We both need to be comfortable, if I don´t, my massage won´t be the best.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
100% relaxed. I´m very picky with that. I ask how they feeling while giving massage because if I don´t feel they are relaxed, I feel I´m not doing a good job.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love travelling. That´s one of my biggest hobbies. I enjoy music, as much as I can, and normally enjoy working out, however, during this pandemic, all my routine was altered so I´m not working out right now as I used to do.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I enjoy travelling a lot. Of course, because of pandemic I haven´t been able to do it that often, but for sure, as soon as everything start getting better I will start my trips again.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
100% relaxed. I´m very picky with that. I ask how they feeling while giving massage because if I don´t feel they are relaxed, I feel I´m not doing a good job.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I´ve been working on this for a year. For how long I will do it, I don´t know, but I can tell that probably will last all 2021.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It was a way to match passion with business.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
2 advices.
1- Be respectful. That means caring about the others and paying attention to how they feel.
2- Be responsible. Don´t make any practice you are not well trained.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I don´t know all the masseurs here. I´m sure most of them they must be good, but in my case, I feel is my personality and the way I like to approach the session that it could be different from the rest.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Depending on what kind of massages you offer. I´ve been asked for some specific massages in some areas that requieres a previous training. In those cases, I´ve responsible saying I´m not trained on that and prefer not to do it.
