AnthonySD's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Although I do not remember my first client, I do know that from a very early age I wanted to be a position to not only make other men feel amazing, but also help achieve a greater level of wellbeing.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
This career is one that was chosen and studied for out of passion. I grew up playing the cello, and I have had an array of jobs growing up that fell primarily within the wellness industry. I combined both my talents and my educational experiences into my current position. I love what i do because what i do is part of who i am.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I always strive to give the best service possible. I look to my clients experiences with me to dictate my success. My understanding of the body is extensive and my holistic approach coupled with my genuine care for every client I work on has given me the feedback that I'm definitely proud of!
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
There is definitely more to me than being a massage therapist. I value people for the connection we can create...not just a transaction.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Texting me is the best way to contact me
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I am very physically active and workout regularly. I love being outdoors...then again..who doesn't? As a classically trained cellist I play music often, and my 3 cats are not only my usual audience but also one of my most time consuming hobbies.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It’s a great way to connect with people through touch- a necessary element to our well-being. I love making people feel good.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Study the human body and its mechanics intensely and listen to your clients. Not everyone like the same type of touch and understating their individual needs cannot be overstated.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I'm the only ME available! Every therapist is unique in their methods, and my combination of sensory stimulation from music, aromatherapy, and my touch is unlike anyone else. Come to me and enjoy a uniquely satisfying experience!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been massaging the past 6 years and hope to continue as long as I'm physically capable
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
Im definitely more of a homebody nowadays. Im originally from nyc and have lived in many places...Miami, Bologna Italy, London....
I chose to settle in San Diego, and I LOVE it here!! I live on vacation now, so my need to travel is not so strong any longer.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I would say that the more colors an artist has on the pallet the more detailed the painting can be. It is without question that more training and education will facilitate a more successful career. The more we continue to understand and practice our craft, the more capable we are to giving the best possible version of ourselves.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
100% elated! I dedicate my time and passion into providing the best from myself, and my massaging abilities. Your satisfaction is the primary reason I do what I do!
