Ausmassboy's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: May 15, 2021

1
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- Satisfied. That they got everything they came for, but was surprised at how excellent the session became.

2
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- I believe so. I've been on the table before and have seen guys do things that could possibly injure the client. I can tell five minutes into a session whether a therapist is faking it or is real. Many have had little training or none. I try to avoid those guys. Just because they are pretty to look at means nothing. Who you looking at when you face down on a table or bed? I want to have a great session with guys and give them a wonderful experience, but foremost I want to be certain that I can do for them what is good for their body.

3
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I love to travel. I try to do one to trips per month. I'm about to do an 18 day trip. That will be my absolute longest ever. But I'm stoked about it.

4
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I've been a Masseur for 24 years. I would love to continue for at least another 7 years.

5
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I really love what I do, I care about my clients. Many of my clients have become close friends. I listen to what they tell me. I ask questions. I know when to be quiet. And I always try to have a conducive environment for the sessions.

6
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Get good training. Being a masseur requires a great deal of knowledge about the human body. It is more that just rubbing lotion on a body. Then, get a lot of massages. You will hone your skills by seeing what others do. You won't like a lot of masseurs, but you will find those few that are just excellent. Then strive to be like them in the best of ways.

7
Why did you become a Masseur?

- First and foremost, because I saw the benefit to me in relieving severe pain. I love knowing that I have made someone else's day just a bit better.

8
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- Writing, number one. Reading. Traveling. Visiting historic places. Golf and sports. Walking. Working out at the gym (Gold's). There are times I get so busy, I scarcely have time, but I always take time to walk and to write.

9
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I always say I want them to leave with a smile on their face. Healed from pain, glad they came to see me, reassured that I gave them 100%, and anxiously awaiting for when they can return. I always want them wanting more.

10
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I began doing massage after having a bicycle accident that could have ended my life. I was in severe pain. A friend suggested that I find a masseur to help manage the pain. I was hooked from the first time that Clark touched my body. He eventually talked me into going to massage school and entering the business. I love Clark for that. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Other than that, my clients should also know that I'm a serious, published writer.

11
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- Absolutely. With over 300 clients in 7 states, yep, you bet. Are there guys out there younger and with better bodies? Yep. But there are few whose skills are at my level.

12
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- I've been doing this for 24 years. I can't imagine not doing it. I would greatly miss the the healing I generate in clients and the connection that touch brings.

13
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- I do remember him very well. He came to my door dressed in baggy clothes with a hoody pulled down like he was incognito. HA. I invited him to come in and undress and get on the table while I warmed up the lotion in the kitchen. When I returned to the living room, he was lying on the table and had one of the hottest bodies I'd ever seen. He was ripped from head to toe. 19 year old college student. That was a massage I will never forget.
