Bunkmate's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I've been doing this for so long that I can't remember my first client. I do remember immediately falling in love with the chance to connect with all types of different guys and spread relaxation and pleasure.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
This is the best job I've ever had. I would definitely miss being a masseur if I quit for another line of work
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I've enjoyed a lot of success and great connections with repeat clients I've built over time. Being a masseur fits in with my lifestyle of creating art, traveling, and meeting new people.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I want my clients to know I have a buoyant and kind energy as well as a positive attitude towards gentle sensuality, exploration, and curiosity.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to leave me feeling relaxed and satisfied. While I am by no means submissive, I do like to spread pleasure.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My interests include rock climbing, snowboarding, painting, making music, cooking, going to festivals and raves, and hanging with friends. Art and the outdoors are my two first loves. I like altering the state of my mind and exploring the questions of the universe in a safe space. I love drinking with friends and being in an uplifting atmosphere with laughter, good vibes, and a sense of safety and community.
Why did you become a Masseur?
I started working full-time at a young age. I've gone through a lot of different jobs and tried a lot of online gigs. Several years ago, I posted an ad online out of curiosity and started meeting up with clients. I had a great experience! Since then, I've had a lot more training and practical experience. I have my own personal style and routine I usually like to follow for a pleasurable full-body massage experience, but I'm happy to cater to individual needs.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Practice, practice, practice. Find a friend who will appreciate your touch and ask them questions about how things feel. Be prepared to be generous, sensual, firm, and yet gentle with your hands. Seek to connect with your clients through touch. The more you learn to play the part of a sensual and open masseur, the more you'll enjoy your sessions with clients. Clients will notice this about you as well and will want to come back for more!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I have an open mind and a kind heart. I've spent a lot of time working on personal growth, seeing things from the perspectives of those around the world, and learning new ideas. All aspects of my life are intertwined. I like to be in the presence of others with a positive energy and a desire to share that with others. I'm an easygoing conversationalist, but also comfortable in silence.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been a masseur for about 5 years. At this point in my life, I intend to continue for at least another 10 years.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel the most often to San Francisco and Las Vegas. In my current place of residence, Salt Lake City, I'm happy to travel but much prefer hosting out of my place with my familiar setup and supplies.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
A successful masseur should have a lot of practice, and training from other professionals. Be open to feedback. Seek out workshops and make friendships with other masseurs. Not everyone has the same style and energy, but you should be familiar with the basics of anatomy, exercise, and nutrition.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want clients to leave me feeling refreshed, relaxed, satisfied, and wanting to return on a later date for more.
