Cal_phx's Massage Interview
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do, and I am very thankful for all my clients, new and regular ❤
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Currently, I am a full-time college student so that takes up a ton of my time. But I love to hike, bike, anything fitness-related, and also relax and eat amazing food.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
My goal for any massage is for my client to feel better than when they arrived. Relaxed, calm, and happy.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Ha! My first client is definitely unforgettable. You know your client is enjoying the massage if they are snoring and drooling. But that mixed with wood floors and me not paying attention ended with me slipping and falling. The fall scared the client awake. We laughed for quite awhile after that.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I love to travel, but with everything that has happened over the past year, travel has been non existent. But I plan to change that this year so keep an eye out, I may be in your city at some point.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
My goal for each massage is to make sure my client leaves feeling better than when they arrived.
Happy, calm, and stress free.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Get proper massage training and know that this field of work is a constant learning process. Be open to learning new things or new ways of doing things. And make sure to show confidence and respect 100% of the time.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I would 100% miss them, the connection you're able to make through touch is beyond what most of us experience in normal day to day life.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Going on 8 years and no sign of wanting to stop.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
I belive training is needed, whether that be self taught, formal, or internship.
