ChazKing's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Feb 12, 2017

1
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- What I would like my clients to know is that I'm Honored and Proud of where I am in Life. I joined the Marine Corps out of High School when I was 17yo. After I left the Marines I went to school for Accounting, which in 2003 I started my own Bookkeeping / Tax Firm and became the Treasurer for the Greater Phoenix Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. I have always strived to be the best at what I do, and that has not changed with changing my life to just doing Massage and Traveling, I will always stride to be the best I can for each and everyone of my Clients, to me each one is special, and I will always do my best to take care of their Needs and Desires that each one needs on an Individual Basis.

2
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- To be honest, when I became a Massage Therapist, I was running 6 Companies of my own already, and we massaged every day in school, I was Massaging while in school for Tips, but it was so long ago, and was truly a very exhausing part of my life, I don't remember those days. Now all I do is just Massage and Travel doing it, I'm very happy with my Life now, and have grown a Great Client Base which I hope to keep groing over the next few years.

3
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- Currently with my Travel Schedules I don't have a lot of down time for Hobbies, but I do enjoy playing Darts, going Hiking (Phoenix has some Awesome Mountains to Hike), taking walks on the Beach (Long Beach & Oceanside) are my favorite. I have started taking Cruises to get away and relax which I hope to be able to continue doing each year for a while.

4
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- When my Clients leave I'm hoping that they got out of the Experience what they Needed and Desired. Every Client is Different and need something different, all sessions start the same, but never end the same. I want the Client to feel special about their expeirence, as it is about them.

5
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I live in Phoenix, AZ, but I'm home about a week a month now. I travel the rest of the time, I'm starting to Focus on the Southwest as I have a pretty good client base started here, but I have gone to NV (Las Vegas & Reno), TX (Houston & Dallas), AR (Little Rock), KY (Louisville), OH (Columbus), PA (Pittsburgh), OK (OKC & Tulsa) but now I'm more focused in AZ (Phoenix & Tucson), NM (Albuquerque), UT (SLC) & S. Cal (Long Beach, San Diego & Palm Springs) what's nice is it's a Career I can take where I desire.

6
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- First thing I would suggest to someone that wanted to become a Masseur is to get Licensed, most clients are looking for more then just a Body Rub, they desire true Therapy. Second is to take pride in what they are doing, there are days you will be drained or tired, but you will just have to push through, and once you start exchanging energy with the first client of the day, it will bring your energy right up with it. It is a great career choice to make, if you enjoy healing and taking care of your Clients.

7
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I got licensed as a Massage Therapist when I was 39 in 2007, and as long as my body holds up and my clients still want to see me, I would like to stay doing Massage until I'm into my 60's. I'm lucky that I'm aging well, and hopefully I will keep my looks into my late 60's early 70's.

8
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- For the State of Arizona, the training to get licensed is about a Year Long and you need 24 hours of Continuing Education to maintain your license. The Continuing Education is up the Therapist what they want to take. Myself I have been focused on Therapeutic / Restorative Massage to help my clients avoid Surgery and Maintain a Healty Life.

9
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I take pride in what I do, and continue to strive to better my abilities for my clients helth and recovery. My photos are really me, and I try to under sell and over deliver to my clients. Most are surprised at the great Massage they get for the lower price that I offer.

10
Why did you become a Masseur?

- At the end of 2005 I was diagnosed with Degenerative Hip Desease, and my Chiropractor suggested that I do something on my feet more often, and we went down the list, eventually it was suggested Massage Therapy, which I had thought about as a Teenager Young Adult but never followed through. So I decided to give it a try, enrolled in school, and was the greatest decision I ever made, I used to run 6 companies, now all I do is just work as a Massage Therapist, I did have my Left Hip replaced, but thanks to Massage I have about 10 years left on my Right Hip.

11
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I try to Tailor the session to my Clients Needs & Desires, I'm a bit intuitive so at times I can sense what they are desiring, but in the end I hope my Clients are very relaxed and feel that I have taken care of some of the Issues that they needed worked out, and desire to come back for further treatments.

12
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- Yes, I would have to say I'm a Sccuess Case as a Massage Therapist. I completed School March of 2007 and have been licensed since, my Continuing Education has been in Therapeutic / Restoritave Massage Modalities. I am fortunate enough to be allowed to travel with my profession, and I'm stating to fucus just in the SW, Phoenix, Tucson, Albuquerque, Salt Lake City, Southern CA (Long Beach & San Diego). Massage is all I do Full Time now and enjoy my career choice.

13
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- At the end of 2015 I had a Jet Skii Accident, and was unable to work for 3 months, and I would have to say I missed my Job as a Massage Therapist very much, and thought I might never be able to do it again. I'm happy to say I made a full recovery, and back to work, but I would have missed my Clients and Profession very much if I was unable to continue.
