ChrisRubs's Massage Interview
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Communication with a client is key. Ask what a client likes, doesn't like, and for any questions or concerns he may have. And express the same for yourself, especially in live time. Being candid puts both parties at ease. Why not be verbal? No one has to do anything they don't enjoy. Moods can change, usually towards the more exciting.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
From what I've been told: most don't offer essential oils as I do -- all organic, like eucalyptus, rosemary, mints, and others -- which induce a warm, tingly feeling, dilating blood vessels to stimulate circulation, especially for certain, more sensitive, body parts. I usually use them in combination with a base of organic coconut oil, though non-oily lotion is available, too. Also, I'm told most don't offer clay for facial and skin nor highly-alkaline, freshly-ionized water, from my water ionizer, in spray bottle for its antioxidant, moisturizing, skin-tightening properties. Lastly, I've heard others can seem intimidating which can be avoided just by being inquisitive, communicative.
Why did you become a Masseur?
It's healthy for both client and provider.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
15 years
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
To have found a new level of relaxation and empowerment.
