DeepIntuition's Massage Interview
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I taught nude yoga in Seattle for five years. My study of yoga, along with my study of martial arts, dance, and Qigong have given me a deep understanding of my own body on both a physical and spiritual level. I have recovered from many injuries: neck, elbows, wrists, shoulders, knees, hips, and spine. I have also recovered from mental health issues: depression, anxiety, PTSD from ****, sleep disorder, addiction. I share this information with you because I believe it has given me the compassion and personal experience to help people heal with a variety of physical and emotional problems.
I am a sensitive person and possess great empathy which allows me to connect with each of my clients. My calming presence will allow you to let your guard down and receive the greatest benefit from the work.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I have a studio out of which I work in Rogers Park. It is a sacred space designed and dedicated for healing work. Traveling simply does not offer the same opportunities as working in a sacred space. I work off of the floor and require a futon. Also, I do not own a car, so travel is quite difficult for me.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I a quite an active person. I enjoy taking dance classes and learning new movement modalities. The classes keep me centered and offer me opportunities to depend my relationship to my open body, which in turn benefits my treatments through increased body awareness, development of sensitivity of touch, and improved body mechanics.
I bike as much as I can when traveling around the city. I also enjoy hiking and backpacking.
I also enjoy cooking vegan cuisine, playing the recorder, and making art.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Touch is a natural way for me to communicate with people. I have a heightened awareness for what people feel. I like to help people heal, become more aware of their bodies, and get in-touch with their inner self.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my clients to feel loved, appreciated, and connected. These days we all get down about the state of the world. It's good to spend quality time with someone getting in touch with our primal senses to remember what's important about being alive.
