DominicGaines's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
The first guy I massaged actually became my boyfriend-- so I knew I was onto something!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
I do! I have been working privately and through word of mouth for the last five years. I love the aspect of touch and connection as personal healing.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
I think I will always be doing massage, in one form or another-- for a very long time.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I am a creative and compassionate spirit. When we exchange touch, we share a history and connection that hopefully leaves us both in an elevated place.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Cleansed, relaxed, and satisfied.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I love to work out, be in nature, and tell stories.
Why did you become a Masseur?
We can all transform through the power of touch-- and I realized at a young age that this ability is something worth sharing.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
Go into it with an open mind, and strong methods of self care. If you can't take care of yourself, you aren't ready to help others.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
My voice is my own, and it extends into my hands :).
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
For the last five years, and yes, I always will.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I travel a few months of the year, but love being in my home as well.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
We must always be students- continuing to learn and grow and perfect our craft through experience and training is the only way to success-- not just in career, but life.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want them to feel at ease-- connected to me and the world around them. This world is a crazy place-- so if we can create a moment of bliss together, that is the best kind of gift we can share.
