GoodFeelz's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Nov 03, 2023

1
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- When my massage clients leave, I want them to feel completely renewed and refreshed. The aim of my sessions is not just to alleviate physical discomfort but also to invigorate their senses. I want them to leave with a lightness in their body and a clearness in their mind, feeling as if they've hit the reset button on their physical and mental state. My hope is that each client walks away feeling fresh, with a renewed sense of energy and positivity to carry into their day-to-day activities.

2
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- The question of whether extensive training is necessary for a masseur to be successful can be multifaceted. On one hand, formal education and training provide a strong foundation in understanding the human anatomy, various massage techniques, and the science behind them. They equip a masseur with the skills needed to effectively alleviate physical discomfort and promote overall wellness.

On the other hand, success as a masseur isn't solely defined by the extent of one's training. It also heavily depends on qualities such as empathy, patience, good communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others. Furthermore, practical experience plays a significant role in honing these skills and adapting to clients' unique needs.

So, while training is undeniably important, it's just one piece of the puzzle. A blend of education, personal attributes, and experience can contribute to a masseur's success.

3
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I actually find myself in the middle of the spectrum. I love to travel and explore new places, cultures, and experiences. There's something about immersing myself in a new environment that invigorates me and offers a fresh perspective. However, I equally cherish being at home. It's my sanctuary, a place where I can unwind, spend quality time with my husband, and indulge in my hobbies. So, it's safe to say, I am as much addicted to travel as I am to the comfort of my home. It's all about finding the right balance.

4
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I have been a masseur for several years now and honestly, I can't envision a time when I'll stop. This profession has become an integral part of who I am. The satisfaction I get from helping others alleviate their pain and stress is incredibly rewarding. As long as I am able to, I plan to continue offering my services, learning new techniques, and making a positive impact on my clients' lives.

5
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- What sets me apart from other masseurs is my holistic approach to massage therapy. I don't just focus on the area of discomfort, but consider the whole person, including their lifestyle, stress levels, and overall health. I believe in creating a soothing ambiance for my clients, often incorporating elements like diffuser essential oils, calming music, which reflects my personal love for music and the sense of smell.

6
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- If someone wants to become a masseur, my advice would be to first develop a genuine interest in helping others. This profession is about more than technique — it's about empathy, understanding, and the desire to improve others' wellbeing.

7
Why did you become a Masseur?

- I chose to become a masseur because I've always been drawn to careers where I can make a direct, positive impact on people's lives. I realized that through massage therapy, I could provide immediate relief to those suffering from pain or stress. Moreover, understanding the human body and how it responds to touch was incredibly fascinating to me. The satisfaction I get from helping my clients feel better, both physically and mentally, is unmatched.

8
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of activities that help me relax and recharge. I have a passion for music, as it brings a sense of calm and joy to my life. I also love attending live theatre performances; the energy and talent on stage never fail to inspire me. Engaging in games with friends is another favorite pastime of mine. It's not just about the competition, but the laughter and connections we make during these times. Lastly, spending quality time with my husband is something I truly cherish. Whether we're on an adventure or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, these moments are precious to me.

9
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- When someone leaves after having a massage session with me, I'd like them to feel a profound sense of relief and rejuvenation. It goes beyond just physical relaxation. I want them to feel mentally tranquil, as if a weight has been lifted. The ultimate goal is for them to leave with a renewed sense of energy and positivity, better equipped to tackle their everyday challenges.

10
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- One thing I'd want my clients to absolutely know about me is that music is a significant part of my life. It's not just a hobby, but a necessity for me. Music has the power to lift my spirits, calm my mind, and inspire creativity. Often, I incorporate calming tunes into my massage sessions, as I believe it enhances the relaxation process. So, when you're getting a massage from me, know that the soothing soundscape is carefully curated to complement the therapy, reflecting my passion for both music and healing.

11
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- Yes, I do consider myself a successful masseur. Success in this field isn't just about technical skill, although that's important. For me, it's about the positive impact I've been able to make in my clients' lives. I've helped clients manage chronic pain, recover from injuries, and find relaxation in their hectic lives. The appreciative words I hear and the recurring clients I get are indicators of my success. Plus, I find immense personal satisfaction in my work, which is another important measure of success to me.

12
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- Yes, I would definitely miss my days as a masseur. The profession is indeed addictive because it's incredibly rewarding. Every day, you get to help people find relief from their pain, de-stress, and improve their overall well-being. It's a unique blend of human connection and healing that's hard to find in any other profession. There's a deep sense of satisfaction in knowing you’ve helped someone, and this feeling is what makes it addictive and something I would undoubtedly miss.

13
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- Absolutely, I can never forget my first client. His name was Mr. Anderson, a middle-aged man with chronic back pain. On my first day, I remember the jitters of wanting to perform professionally, but he was very understanding. His relief and gratitude post-session, when he told me that he hadn't been able to move so freely in months, reinforced my decision to become a masseur. It was a clear reminder of the profound impact I could make on individuals' well-being through my work.
