GreatDeepMassage's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Oct 28, 00:07

1
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- Maybe addictive is a strong word to describe it. To me, it is very fulfilling as I’m always in a very serene setting, all very zen and soothing completely opposite of stress. I am more healthy when I work as I use my entire body, it is like a full on workout. This is a true work and life symbiosis and balance, yes I will certainly miss the wonderful days.

2
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Be professional, never stop learning, and never stop caring and being kind, Be alert and always teach others how to treat you by being the good example. Do not respond to or tolerate any abusive behaviours or bullying, report them instead. Do not ignore red flags.

3
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- I love to travel. If I could travel all the time I would, especially to places I have not been. I am also a homebody. So generally, I am a combination of both sort of like 50/50 introverted and extroverted. I believe, I would be considered as living a nomadic lifestyle. A global citizen of the world.

4
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- If I managed to help and put a smile on countless prople over the years I must be doing something right? Why I consider myself a successful masseur because I am dedicated to help any person no matter what age, gender, size, colour or background, as great health is a right and should accessible for anyone. I abide strictly by the number 1 rule of do no harm, I have no history or record of causing any harm. I set great ongoing health standards and habits for my clients so they can be more self reliant. The reason I keep this job is because the thank you I received, the gratitude I feel at the end of every session making everything worthwhile. I even received text messages after many days and months. I am honoured to be able to help and making positive impact improving quality of lives.

5
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I am more of a traditional guy, punctual and always well prepared and professional. I can be flexible and accommodating. But mostly, it is my dedication as you will be able to feel at the first touch. Ultimately, I take my work seriously and will be straight forward regarding my observations and thoughts.

6
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- He was such a gentleman and wonderful person. He enjoyed the session very much and decided to book three more 2 hour sessions. I was treated to a nice dinner at the end. It was such a wonderful experience and connection, a day in a life that I could easily get accustomed to.

When I decided to be a masseur I knew my life and health will change forever. I knew I would learn so much and this decision will bring me to places and the right people, which it did. And I am certainly open for more of this blissful life and experiences with open arms.

7
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- A heavenly experience. For some, it took them to a different planet and back. An intense journey inwards towards bringing your body, mind and spirit one again. It opens up stories of the body and some long forgotten that might need a bit more tender loving care. Enlightened through the pleasure of healing and human touch.

8
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- Extensive training it is quite useful, however, the knowledge of the anatomy and physiology is key. With intuition and experience, we can achieve wonderful things, however, without knowledge of science and human anatomy, we could be causing harm instead of helping.

9
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- I like to workout, spend time doing art and interior, cooking, go to the beach, galleries, museums, concerts, restaurants, hiking, sailing, paddling, dancing to house music. My most favourite of all is travelling. Oh yeah I LOVE gardening!

10
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I want them to feel their stresses, fatigues, and aches, disappeared completely and feeling light and rejuvenated; one with the body, mind and spirit. I want them to leave feeling fresh, smiling, with better awareness of the body, trusting that they are cared for, and a safe place to come back to.

11
Why did you become a Masseur?

- For three decades, I suffered from severe migraines that caused my neck to swell, constricting my windpipe making it hard to breathe, I thought I was going to die. After searching globally for a cure to no avail, I was willing to try anything. Fortunately, I discovered mindfulness meditation, which made me realize my burnout and need for change. I quit my job, adopted a holistic lifestyle prioritizing on my healing and health, and continued to educate myself on holistic healing and posture. Over 10 years have passed since making that change, and my migraines have not recurred.

My wish for good health came true, I managed to cure the severe migraines, fixed both my dislocated rotator cuffs, and a few other issues quite effectively. From here, I made a pact to share this journey, learnings and gift to heal as many people as possible and making real significant impact to someone’s life, health and happiness.

12
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- Professionally, it has been a decade. I know this deep in my heart that this is just the beginning as I have the entire lifetime to get better at this.

13
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- The knowledge of anatomy and physiology, being able to read situations, listen and adapt. It is an art and requires sensitivity and intuition, to navigate the balance between feeling relaxed and managing that certain pain threshold for every session as our body and mind is different every day.
