JakobBodyKneads's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Jan 07, 2020

1
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- With eighteen years under my belt, I think it’s safe to say I’m a successful therapist. Success is also based on my clients feedback. If they leave happy and satisfied I know I’ve done my part. My techniques over the years to release and unload specific stressors in their lives have made me their favorite for returnIng appointments.
I also get to travel the world and meet new faces and places each and every year. I am very thankful for this opportunity and don’t take one moment of it for granted.

2
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- I would want them to feel that they could trust me. I am a kind and soft spoken person and hope that would resonate with them. I am not in this business to make a fast buck. I actually offer a great therapy, a blend of all my modalities that I have learned. My therapies can be a wonderful spiritual journey. Touch can release so much. We don’t even realize what we are holding onto until that moment when it’s finally released. I have built a successful business on trust and integrity. Clients coming to me are assured privacy and a wonderful intuitive connection. In addition my years of experience and service speak for themself.

3
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- Travel Travel Travel ! Can you tell I love to travel? I travel about every other year outside of the county, and locally to California and New York a few times a year to see my regular clients.
Although there are those days I just like to stay home and snuggle with my kitty.

4
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- Traveling is my most favorite. This past summer I visited my homelands again of Budapest and Mykonos.
I always enjoy anyplace that offers a beach and ocean. I truly can unwind and escape while there. Plus enjoy being in the nude on these beaches helps too.
Living in the desert I get to hike, nearby is a magnificent mountain range I get to explore on a daily basis.
I enjoy working out as well. It’s important to keep my core strong for my profession.

5
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- I most definitely would. I know I have found the right career path for me. It is my true calling in life. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I have met so many wonderful clients throughout the years of service, some have become real close friends of mine.

6
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I am a professionally trained and educated massage therapist now for eighteen years. I truly feel I am in the place where I need to be. I will continue doing so as long as clients will have me and share my touch and experience.

7
Why did you become a Masseur?

- My dear mother was diagnosed with a terminal disease. Upon her entering hospice I gave her a gentle neck and back massage. The connection we had is difficult to describe, there was something spiritual and healing in that moment.
Sadly, it was the last moments we had together as she later passed that evening.
That experience left me lost and numb for years, however somewhere deep within me something spiritual was growing. I realized my touch was powerful and that’s when I went back to school to learn the art of massage therapy and share my knowledge and touch with others.

8
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I was raised with good old fashioned European values. My parents were born and raised in Hungary and Greece respectively. I am first born generation and pride myself with all those values instilled in me.
I was taught from a very young age to strive for the best, work smart and be kind to people. I still have those values within me.
I am a college educated man, along with my masseur degree. I have a degree in Corporate Communication and Marketing.
I love to travel and experience different cultures. Even when I travel I still offer my services so I can truly delve into conversations with my clients and continue growing as an individual.

9
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- My therapy sessions invoke release, they should feel light and floating which are the terms I like to refer to. We hold onto so much day in and day out. I want my clients to feel comfortable and be able to unwind under my touch.

10
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Make sure you put in the time for it. Truly learn your craft become passionate about it.
This shouldn’t just be based on a hunch. Search for that deeper connection to it.

11
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- I do his name was Charles. He had some difficulties walking due to a recent accident. He came to the spa that I was working for at the time. Literally my first day on the job.
He was very apprehensive about being touched, I took extra time with his initial assessment. Afterwards he told me that is what helped lessen his fears that I took the time to listen to him.
That’s one of the great life’s lessons - listening.. we all want to be heard.

12
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- I do believe the more training you have in anything is always better. I always warn my clients that individuals that have no training could actually hurt them.
Today there are a lot of guys out there on these sites trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, it’s the client that can end up paying severely. Either being in pain afterwards because the “therapist” didn’t actually know what they were doing, resulting in injury. I always advise my clients to ask plenty of detailed questions of your therapist about training and education before committing.

13
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I am intuitive, I have a deep connection with people in general. However that sacred moment when two individuals meet to start a session is truly the moment I start my assessment.
Allowing my clients to be comfortable in their own skin. I never judge people based on their age, sex, skin color, orientation or weight. My motto is we are all the same inside.
I’ve heard horror stories where my fellow “therapists” have made my clients feel lesser or simply refuse services because they are too this or too that. It truly destroys the industry when you have such individuals out there doing this to clients
