JayStressRelief's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Feb 22, 09:22

1
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- 8 years and forever! I want to continue providing massage even after i retire from my primary career path because I love doing massage and meeting the great people who are in need of some physical and emotional attention.

2
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- They usually tell me that it was the best and most enjoyable massage experience that they have ever had! Clients typically leave feeling physically and emotionally satisfied and with complete trust in me. More than 80% of my clients are regulars and trust me to keep them feeling good and happy.

3
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- It is important to learn the basics either from another masseur or a training program but I feel like you learn the most through hands on experience. Having the appropriate mentor or training will help you provide a satisfactory experience while you learn through giving massage. Without that, a massage can be awkward or even painful for the client, which you never want.

4
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- Domestically, quite often. Usually once or twice a month at least. I love visiting New York, Las Vegas, Portland, Anaheim and Austin. I’m excited to travel to Japan and finally test out my conversational Japanese once international travel restrictions are lifted ✈️

5
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I’m not afraid to connect both emotionally and physically with my clients. The emotional connection can make the physical part so much more fulfilling and intense (in a good way). I also encourage my clients to express what makes them feel good and things that excite them. If i can accommodate these requests I will!

6
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- Don’t do it if you don't genuinely do not enjoy providing massage! I also would not recommend providing this service if you don’t have an appreciation for all races, body types and ages. Everybody is deserving of some love and attention!

7
Why did you become a Masseur?

- Because i honestly enjoy it! I feel like i am helping lots of really amazing people and providing comfort to those who need it. It feels so good to provide physical and emotional fulfillment to my clients.

8
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- I am a giant gamer nerd and dog lover! I also enjoy movies and meeting new people.

9
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- Safe, comfortable, relaxed, completely emotionally and physically satisfied.

10
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I love when clients choose me for their first experience. Nothing makes me feel better than making someone who is nervous about trying something new feel comfortable and leave completely relaxed, satisfied with a big smile on their face. I love to answer any questions for those deciding if they would like to try out a new massage experience :)

11
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- I do! I get so many great compliments about my technique and how good people feel when they are done with the experience. The relaxation happiness and connection i provide my clients make me feel like I am doing something right!

12
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- I do! He was a very kind but stressed out biker from San Francisco that was going through a tough divorce process. He had to cancel the day prior because it was raining and he said it was dangerous to drive his motorcycle in the rain. We talked about his issues at home while I worked over his body. He had some amazing tattoos that complemented his body and each had its own story. He was also talented in other areas…but that’s a story for another time 😉

13
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- I absolutely would! Being a Masseur is something i enjoy immensely and relaxes me as much as much as I hope it relaxes my clients. I’m a caretaker at heart and this is my outlet to express that side of myself.
