JoeyATL's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yes. It was a horrible experience. Was at the Ritz Carlton, what's so nervous I forgot my massage oil. All I had in my bag was ***ual lubricant. So I concealed the bottle and had to use it unfortunately. Plus it was on the bed. This is before I had purchased a table. Afterwards. The man politely said I may have been one of the better looking masseur he's experienced. However thought it was the worst Massage he's received. He knew it was my first massage ever and that's very nervous. He is very kind. But yes I absolutely remember my first massage.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I worked in corporate America for 28 years for the owners of Studio 54; Ian Schrager and Steve Rubell. After the ending of studio 54, they opened up five star hotels catering to celebrities and the entertainment and music communities. I started as a sales assistant and the last 15 years was director of Sales and Marketing specializing in production, Entertainment and fashion. I was number three in my field and in the United States representing hotels in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and London.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy walking ; prior to Atlanta I lived Manhattan for 15 years so I'm used to walking everywhere. It may be goofy, but I enjoy writing electric scooters. Makes me feel like a kid again. Music will be a huge part of my hobbies or entertainment?
Why did you become a Masseur?
This journey started for me 3 years ago. I took one year off to work at a hotel in Miami Beach. However, have aging family in Atlanta and that's why I returned.
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Absolutely after working in corporate America for so many years. I make good money now but it's not he money that's more attractive is the freedom. I manage my schedule as I want to. I keep myself available so that I can accommodate my clients schedules
My clients are not what one would think. Their mostly upper middle class mature well manner and polite men. Not to mentioned most of them are very handsome. Over the years I've developed wonderful relationships. The time we spend together is always intimate and private and that's what I really enjoy. I can be stressed or not focused once I lay my hands on someone's body and start massaging I become extremely present and I enjoy the experience myself as much as the client.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Actually I do! It takes me an hour just to prepare for every massage from sterilizing the studio to the music. candles, lights and scent. As well as I take 15 or so minutes to meditate before I put my hands on anyone. I want to bring positive energy and be completely present to guide the experience.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I was in the field if they had a positive experience that was worthy of the fee they paid. I always go over. I never charge. I put a lot of effort into the experience so they have a positive, unique and very erotic experience. I will say 80% of my clientele are repeat. I'm constantly studying new techniques, styles and trying to add amenities to my work.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
If you want to be successful, you have to truly enjoy it and put in a lot of work. From marketing, to study techniques and styles, in addition to nurturing and taking care of your client.
I provide the most professional service possible. Of course I ensure it's a ***y and fun experience.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
I'm a really nice good guy with a good heart. And I think my client feel this when they need me. I've been told that my hands are very healing. Every person and every single massage it's completely different. It depends on that person your energy etc. And I do try to help and heal people. Especially after we're getting corporate America and making a few people millions of dollars and helping no one.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I've been in the store for about 3 years and I would like to continue as long as I can. There's always a client for every masseur.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I only travel to LA and South Florida. I've lived in both locations and know area and communities. And I make it a vacation for myself as well. Why should I not enjoy?
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Absolutely! I've taken online classes, video tutorials, hard licensing sewers to help me with techniques. I'm constantly reading, learning, trying new things.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
I want you to feel as it was a fair experience for what they paid. Actually I want them to feel as if their receiving more for the amount offered.
