John_hands's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Oct 15, 23:15

1
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- I want clients to leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and deeply cared for. Ideally, they should feel a sense of balance and relief, both physically and mentally, knowing that their needs were truly understood and addressed. My goal is for them to carry that sense of calm and well-being with them long after the session ends.

2
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- Yes, extensive training is essential for a masseur to be successful. A solid education in anatomy, physiology, and massage techniques is critical for providing safe and effective treatments. Additionally, hands-on practice and learning different modalities help develop the skills needed to address various client needs. Continuous learning and certification also keep a masseur up to date with the latest practices, which can greatly enhance their success in the field.

3
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?

- As a healer, I find balance between traveling and staying grounded at home. While I value the energy and insights gained from exploring new places, I also appreciate the peace and restoration that comes from being in a familiar environment. Both experiences are essential for maintaining harmony within myself, allowing me to better serve others.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

- What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?

5
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- What sets me apart as a massage therapist is my focus on personalized, holistic care. I tailor each session to the client's unique needs and incorporate mindfulness for a well-rounded experience. With a commitment to continuous learning, clear communication, and a deep passion for wellness, I create a safe, supportive space where clients can truly relax and heal.

6
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- What sets me apart as a massage therapist is my focus on personalized, holistic care. I tailor each session to the client's unique needs and incorporate mindfulness for a well-rounded experience. With a commitment to continuous learning, clear communication, and a deep passion for wellness, I create a safe, supportive space where clients can truly relax and heal.

7
Why did you become a Masseur?

- As a licensed massage therapist (LMT), I became a masseur because I have a genuine passion for helping people feel better both physically and mentally. I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and its ability to heal, and massage therapy allows me to play a role in that process. I enjoy creating a calming environment where clients can relax and unwind, and I find it incredibly rewarding to alleviate pain and stress for others. Plus, the continuous learning and growth in techniques and modalities keep the profession exciting and fulfilling for me.

8
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?

- In my spare time, I enjoy a variety of activities. I love exploring nature through hiking or biking, as it helps me unwind and connect with the outdoors. I'm also a fan of reading, particularly books on personal development and wellness. Additionally, I enjoy practicing mindfulness and meditation, which enhances my focus and overall well-being. Cooking and trying out new recipes can be another creative outlet for me, allowing me to experiment with healthy meals. Lastly, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, whether it's through game nights or exploring new restaurants.

9
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- As an LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist), my goal is for every client to leave feeling deeply relaxed, rejuvenated, and balanced, both physically and mentally. I want them to experience relief from muscle tension, stress, and any physical discomfort they came in with. Ideally, they would also feel a sense of emotional calm and restored energy, ready to face the rest of their day with a heightened sense of well-being.

10
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- As a massage therapist, one thing I’d want my clients to absolutely know about me is that I am deeply committed to their well-being. My approach would be centered on creating a safe, calming environment where they can fully relax and trust the process. Every session would be tailored to their specific needs, and I would always take the time to listen to what their body and mind require on that day.

I’d want them to know that I view massage not just as a service, but as a form of holistic care. Whether they’re coming in for stress relief, muscle recovery, or simply to take a break, my goal would always be to help them leave feeling better than when they arrived.

11
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?

- As a massage therapist, I would define success by the positive impact I’ve had on my clients. If I were to see clients leave my table feeling relaxed, relieved, and rejuvenated, knowing that I’ve helped ease their physical or emotional tension, then I’d consider myself successful.

Success would also come from the trust and relationships built over time with repeat clients, and the satisfaction of knowing that they value my skills and the care I provide. It’s not just about the technical aspect of massage, but also about creating a healing space where clients feel comfortable and understood.

In that sense, yes, I would consider myself a successful masseur if I were able to deliver those outcomes consistently!

12
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?

- It’s not just the physical aspect of helping others, but the emotional and therapeutic connection you develop with clients. Each session offers an opportunity to make a real difference in someone's day, helping them release stress, pain, or tension, and seeing that transformation can be incredibly rewarding. The quiet focus, the mindfulness that comes with working on someone’s body, and the satisfaction of knowing you’re improving their well-being can become something you look forward to every day.

If I were to leave that behind, I’d definitely miss the hands-on interaction and the sense of fulfillment from providing that level of care. There’s something deeply gratifying about using touch to heal, and that connection—both with the craft and with the clients—is hard to replace. So yes, I’d imagine missing it quite a lot!

13
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!

- I remember preparing the room meticulously—setting up the massage table, making sure the sheets were perfect, lighting the candles, and getting the right essential oils for a calming ambiance. My first client walked in, a little tense, and I could tell they were unsure of what to expect.

I remember asking them about any problem areas and their preferences for pressure. As I began the massage, I felt a wave of calm as I settled into the rhythm. With each stroke, I could feel the tension melt away from their body, and their breathing slowed as they relaxed. By the end of the session, they looked visibly lighter, like a weight had been lifted off their shoulders. That moment made me realize how powerful touch and relaxation could be.

From that day, I knew I had found my calling—helping people feel better, both physically and mentally, through massage therapy. That first session was a turning point, and it gave me the confidence to keep growing in this field.
