Josemara's Massage Interview
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
I do. I remember everything about that first experience, how we were dressed up, the day, everything! we are still in touch and although I moved out the city where we met, at least once a month drive back 3 hours to meet him! That’s the type of first client, now friend, I was so Lucky to have!
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
More than addictive I’d describe it like this. I hate saying this because when I hear it I roll back my eyes every time 😂 but I guess there’s no better way to say it; this is the type of job you like that much you don’t even see it as a job, it’s more than that and when you truly enjoy what you do this much, you won’t have to work one single day of your life!
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
When you like what you do and you do it with quality and love success comes along the way and that applies to everything in life ! 😁
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
That the moment my client and i get together there’s nothing else I care about in the world, that I will try my best to make him feel comfortable, and save, no judgments, no inhibitions and that I’ll make sure the both of us will have a great time 💪🏻
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
Like he can’t wait to come back !
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
I’m very in touch with my artistic side piano and painting my passion, add a dog somewhere around and I’m done, love dogs 🐶
Why did you become a Masseur?
I guess I love physical contact, knowing that through my hands I’m making feel someone else good, relaxed, peaceful it’s what motivated and motivates me everyday to do what I do.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
That being a masseur goes beyond the massage itself, it’s the opportunity of meeting new and amazing people every time you’re gonna meet a client, that although technique is important, it’s also important to let yourself go a little bit with the moment and have fun!
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
That no matter what, I could be tired or upset for that flat tire that took me hours to change or dropped my phone in water and doesn’t work anymore or maybe lost my wallet in the back sit of an Uber! ( 😆) my client can be sure I’ll always be with the best attitude and energy and that I’ll give my 100% to do what I do the best I can!
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
Masseur technically since I was I little kid and my dad asked me and my sister to massage and step on his back after work, who would’ve known? 🤷🏻♂️ 😆 and hopefully for a long time!
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
To be honest it’s up to my client, both of them I like to do.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
You have to be all the time learning new techniques! Be curious, try new things on yourself, on your friends, that is fundamental otherwise it becomes something mechanical; that’s also makes the difference Between a client you will see twice in your life or twice a month 😌
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Special, energized, happy, positive; if I can make that happen I’m the happiest man in the world.
