LoganStone's Personal Masseur InterviewLast Updated: Jan 11, 09:19
- I 100% believe training is essential. Being good with your hands, as so many claim to be, isn’t good enough in my opinion. The body is a beautiful and incredibly complex creation. There are people who naturally have good touch; however, training gives you the knowledge of how to apply that touch, and an understanding of why you are applying that touch. If you don’t truly understand the functions of each part of the body how could you possibly help it be better? For both client safety and to avoid injury to yourself it is important to have formal training. Investing into your skill with continuing education allows you to become better at the art of massage, as well as keeping things diverse for your clients. Personally I’d never trust an unlicensed “masseur” to touch me.
- Im not just trying to give a quick rub and tug. Im looking at your body and trying to address any dysfunction that I find. On a lighter note I try to do this while looking my best for you 😉
- I dont travel as often as I would like but thats also not a priority for me right now. I have had many great adventures in the past. Im now entering a place in my life where Im focused on stability and bettering myself.
- I do remember my first client! In fact he is still a client to this day. I was very nervous, I started giving massage before I had training. I remember trying to figure out how to fill an hour as I didnt have any techniques. Now I often wish I had more time and prefer to do 90min or 120 min sessions so I can address all the things I find on a body.
- Go to school! Practice, practice and then practice more. Take care of your body and be mindful of your body mechanics. Your body is your main tool in giving massage, if you wear your body out your career will be short lived. Care for your clients, if you are not feeling up to giving a massage dont, it’s a diservice to them and to you.
- I love being outdoors, anything that gets me some fresh air and sunshine is a good time to me. I enjoy working out and keeping fit. I have found the gym to be an important part of my life for both mental and physical wellbeing. I also model which I find to be a fun and creative way to express myself. I do many diy projects for home improvement as well. Indoor or outdoor, if I can make it more functional and look better I’m up for the challenge!
- I truely care that you are happy with your experience with me. Im grateful for the opportunity to have you trust me with your body.
- I want my clients to feel like a better version of themselves then when they walked in. I want my clients to have less pain, more body awareness and to have had a fun time.
- I like my clients to feel like their whole body took a deep breath. We live in a very demanding and stressful world, and massage can have a positive impact on the entire body. When a client is able to relax the parasympathetic nervous system is able to kick in, this is our rest and repair state. As a massage therapist its my goal to help your body do what it is designed to which is heal itself. In general I want every client to feel the best they can.
- Its been a few years since I first started on this site. Massage is my career until I either age out or can retire.
- I do consider myself a successful massage therapist. I get to do something I enjoy and that I believe in. I always wanted to be my own boss and I have achieved that with this industry. I have developed long term relationships with alot my clients and that tells me Im doing something right.
- 100 % I would miss giving massage if it was out of my life. I find great value in helping people feel better. Touch is so essential to feeling well. I love that I get to help relieve pain and make people feel good.
- I became a licensed massage therapist for a few reasons. I personally experienced the healing quality of massage after a back injury. I have always used my life to help others and I really liked the idea of having a very tangible way to express that need to help my fellow man.
