Mario_cantu's Massage Interview
Some people say that being a Masseur is addictive. Would you miss your Masseur days ?
Who wouldn’t miss; traveling to new cities, meeting interesting clients, learning from very walks of life, and did I mention the money? Yes being a Masseur can be addicting, the role playing, the money and fast life. But when it’s time to cash out, I plan on putting my old ways behind me. A pleasant memory is all I will have, from the time and energy I gave out to the universe.
Do you consider yourself a successful Masseur?
Of course I consider myself a successful Masseur. I learned from the best, networking and learned from other people’s mistakes. In this game every tidbit, pro tip, and detail matters. Take heed when a wise one drops a jewel.
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?
I have a strong personality, the wise guy is my foundation. My soul, energy and vibes are unmatched. From the moment we meet you will feel my deepest and sincere self. Talking to me is like rekindling the love affair, you once lost. And it comes natural, I’m not here to hoodwink anyone.
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?
I want my client to get satisfied completely. I want them to get the weight off their shoulders. I want them to get closure, understanding of self and total relaxation. I want my client to leave not wanting anything else.
What are your hobbies, what do you like to do in your spare time?
My hobbies include bike riding, exploring my city, I’m a big sports fan; can’t get enough of football, boxing and basketball. I like going to the theater, but I’d rather be home around friends and family.
Why did you become a Masseur?
Because I’m good with my hands, I enjoy meeting new people, and I like being my own boss. At the end of the day I’m responsible for my own success. What I put into this is what I get. I’m very professional, patient and have empathy. With my transferable skills, it was easy to pursue this career.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be a Masseur?
You better like everyone. In this day and age most would agree. But no, you have to like answering questions, you have to like people, you have to be patient, understanding, be yourself, but never fake.
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?
There’s no nonsense with me. You can call or text to find out for yourself. What you want is what you get. I will not judge you, question your inquiries, or swindle you. I’m not there to over charge you, or schedule you under false pretenses. No not Mario, I’m there to be your Masseur on call anytime if I’m in your city.
How often do you travel? Do you prefer to travel or are you more of a homebody?
I try to travel twice a month. I prefer to stay local though.
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?
Ultimately I want the client to to leave in total bliss. I want my client to be so satisfied that they are planning their next session.
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?
Yes, you always have to learn more. You may start with a massage, but there is more to offer. Body trimming, body scrub, cupping, hot stones, you can continue to learn new techniques and styles.
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?
I have one year under my belt. Sometimes I see myself and I can’t not see myself doing this work, with intentions of getting out. To be honest this job has awarded me, time, freedom and confidence to face the world, without the sheep skin that our teachers emphasized and over valued in life.
Do you remember your first client ? Tell us something about that first day when you decided to be a Masseur!
Yeah I remember it. I hosted in Center City Philadelphia, my first client was “straight”, young black and fresh from the gym. He had a great personality, but didn’t identify as gay, bi curious, and at times the silence was off putting. I talked, a lot. But he may have said less that 50words, that was my first day meeting him.
