MarkTowerBridge's Personal Masseur Interview
Last Updated: Jun 16, 15:20

1
What distinguishes you from all the other Masseurs?

- I will not compare myself to others. Probably we are all different with our pluses and minuses and it is up to the client to find someone with who he will feel comfortable and safe.

2
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like your clients to absolutely know about you?

- I’m a friendly, understanding guy, and I genuinely enjoy what I’m doing. I’m trying to be well-organised, very tidy and neat. I love discreet men who treat me with respect and have good manners in communication and good personal hygiene. I expect good hygiene from my clients as well, at least taking a shower before the start of the session as otherwise it can be unpleasant for both of us. I believe that good details can make very pleasant differences and leave very nice memories. In order to have a nice session, I like to be ready for it, thus last-minute requests sometimes do not work for me. If I’m online and my profile says I’m available it usually means that I’m ready for an enjoyable massage session now or a little bit later. I'm fully vaccinated for covid & pox.

3
Is extensive training necessary for a Masseur in order to be successful?

- I'm ITEC qualified and I always thought that proper training is very important. ITEC and BTEC qualifications are the only valid qualifications in the UK and they require 6 months of training, dozens of reported case studies, practical workshops and national exams. CPD courses and their qualifications which some masseurs see as a "qualification" have nothing to do with professional qualification as they are just short online courses and are not recognised by professional bodies and insurance. I think a good knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology helps to understand how you should perform your massage. It is quite often I deal with situations where I should be aware of potential risks and therefore my education and knowledge of body anatomy play a significant role. Furthermore, I think additional self-studies and a genuine interest in massage practice are equally important.

4
How long have you been a Masseur and how long do think you'd like to continue?

- I think my massage business is not just a great profession but also a pleasurable hobby. I do also other things in life, including academic stuff (not related to massage though) and some other things. Massage requires not just some bravery but also good knowledge of anatomy, practical skills, and physical strength. When I started my part-time massage business in 2016, I went to a local massage school for a short introductory course. Later on, I took a formal ITEC 6 months course, ITEC Level 3 and ITEC Level 4 with national and international professional ITEC qualifications in holistic massage therapy. I also took a few top-up courses for Deep Tissue, Trigger Point and Myofascial release. I’m self-employed, fully insured and a member of professional massage therapists' associations so it allows me to have good insurance premiums and also work with clients covered with private health insurance. I already have a few great regular clients who I will miss if one day I stop massage practice.

5
How would you like someone that contacts you for a massage to feel when they leave?

- Many of my clients are busy city professionals with unlimited working hours and frequent business travels. Some of them told me that massages help them treat work-related anxiety, and reduce their body tension and muscle pains. Still, most importantly it became a small treat that significantly enhances their lifestyle. Safe and healthy addiction in a way.

6
How do you like clients to feel about the experience when they leave?

- I take my massage appointments seriously so I tend to reflect on the experience in order to improve my service, putting myself in my client's shoes to understand their needs. I don’t think that full body massage can be performed as something mechanical, there is always much more than that. It should be a true connection between two individuals, two men. I understand how the muscles work but when it comes to technique, it should be adjusted accordingly as it is always very individual. I like the man's body in general, also love to be naked and love the sensual touch that provides a very sensual connection. Massage indeed is something that gives us a good understanding of our ***uality and always connects us better to our body, our mind, and of course our pleasures.
